(Note: This is an honest comparison between the underpowered Gally and the respectable Norfleet.)
Time to lay out the facts:
The Gjallarhorn is significantly worse than any Rocket Launcher I have ever seen in any game.
Not only is the damage laughable, the pitiful amount of "wolf pack" rounds it fires reminds me of a marshmallow gun.
In order to make the most sense possible out of this post, I will compare it to one of the best Rocket Launchers I have ever seen: The Norfleet. from Borderlands 2.
Let's make out the comparisons:
Norfleet:
Deals massive damage in an extremely large radius.
Carries significantly more ammo than the Gjallarhorn.
Can instantly kill user if incompetent.
Can be used in association with Slag, an elemental variant, instantly killing bosses.
Fires several projectiles at once, each possessing amazing damage potential.
Deals extremely large amounts of DoT, in several different elements.
Ammo is plentiful and can be regened nearly instantly with the right equipment.
Blast can be nullified if wearing certain equipment.
HAS A MUCH HIGHER CHANCE OF DROPPING FROM SPECIFIC ENEMIES RATHER THAN RELYING SOLELY ON RNG
Gjallarhorn:
Deals low damage to bosses unless paired with several others.
Has homing projectiles that split after intial impact.
Homing rounds do minimal damage.
Can instantly kill user in many scenarios.
Relies on Burns to do extra damage.
Ammo is rare, and often only found from dead enemies. Worthless on bosses.
ONLY COMES IN ONE ELEMENTAL VARIANT.
Based on the previous findings, including a list of pros and cons for each, I have found that the Gjallarhorn is significantly worse than the Norfleet.
You cannot argue with this.

3 RepliesYes but in borderlands danger is able to go up well into the millions I believe and destiny guns do like 50,000 damage max with burns sooo you can't really compare them until the damage they do is all in one damage system.

large amounts of DoT over time
That statement made me lol out loud and want to go to the nearest ATM machine to pay you for making my day but I have a UTI infection that I need to get taken care of so I'll ttyl later.

2 Replies#BorderlandsGameplayWasShit Story=Good Gameplay=Bad Like who the -blam!- thought it was a good idea to make someone play through the game 3 times in a row to get to max? Not this guy. Like Destiny's story was shit but you can't claim that borderlands is any better in repetitiveness.

1 ReplyNobody asked you to compare a rocket launcher from one game to another.. and I'll ask you not to. Destiny attempts to be balanced, not ridiculous.

1 ReplyEdited by Avarice: 5/10/2015 12:30:19 AMThe GHORN is amazing, but just for destiny, you cannot compare it to the norfleet in borderlands 2, this topic is completely silly. The norfleet packs a larger punch and has more ammo because in borderlands it takes a couple of rockets rather than one to kill enemies. As I read your thread further i also noticed the RNG comparison you made, it may not be as random but it is a hell of a lot more difficult. You can get the norfleet from two bosses virmy or hyperious. Spawning virmy in its self is a miracle of nature, then you have to kill it which is a story for another day. So most people choose to try to farm hyperious, this can take time and if you make poor mistakes it will cost you, also if you are poorly equipped hyperious will destroy you. All the ghorn takes is luck and very little skill for destiny is not very difficult. Also it says in your grimoire that u have 0 kills with your ghorn which means you either don't have it and just did a code to get the card. Or you just haven't used it so either way you can't truly compare something you haven't used Now moving on to what you said about ammo, when you said that ammo is easy to come by if properly equipped you meant a sham and a long and gun, which not everyone has. Ghorn ammo is determined by a little luck, and how many heavy ammo synths in your back pocket.

3 RepliesI actually believe you are retarded.

11 RepliesEdited by DV-Insomniac: 5/12/2015 3:07:06 AMOh, so you dub Norfleet king in this game? Tell me again how you use imaginary rocket launchers and self-stoking ego's to eliminate Atheon, Crota, Rockets McDickface, Askor, etc etc Oh you don't? Argument is invalid. Come at me when you can provide a better RL in game. Pro tip: you can't C'mon, the bait is dangling. A master like yourself can't help but nibble. P.S. Don't bother posting to me saying that its still better. All you'll get after every post is "Invalid".
