(Note: This is an honest comparison between the underpowered Gally and the respectable Norfleet.)
Time to lay out the facts:
The Gjallarhorn is significantly worse than any Rocket Launcher I have ever seen in any game.
Not only is the damage laughable, the pitiful amount of "wolf pack" rounds it fires reminds me of a marshmallow gun.
In order to make the most sense possible out of this post, I will compare it to one of the best Rocket Launchers I have ever seen: The Norfleet. from Borderlands 2.
Let's make out the comparisons:
Norfleet:
Deals massive damage in an extremely large radius.
Carries significantly more ammo than the Gjallarhorn.
Can instantly kill user if incompetent.
Can be used in association with Slag, an elemental variant, instantly killing bosses.
Fires several projectiles at once, each possessing amazing damage potential.
Deals extremely large amounts of DoT, in several different elements.
Ammo is plentiful and can be regened nearly instantly with the right equipment.
Blast can be nullified if wearing certain equipment.
HAS A MUCH HIGHER CHANCE OF DROPPING FROM SPECIFIC ENEMIES RATHER THAN RELYING SOLELY ON RNG
Gjallarhorn:
Deals low damage to bosses unless paired with several others.
Has homing projectiles that split after intial impact.
Homing rounds do minimal damage.
Can instantly kill user in many scenarios.
Relies on Burns to do extra damage.
Ammo is rare, and often only found from dead enemies. Worthless on bosses.
ONLY COMES IN ONE ELEMENTAL VARIANT.
Based on the previous findings, including a list of pros and cons for each, I have found that the Gjallarhorn is significantly worse than the Norfleet.
You cannot argue with this.

3 RepliesYou know what else is laughable? Your grimoire
-
3 RepliesWell seeing as to how they're from two different games you cannot compare them
-
3 RepliesAlright, who's the genius who decided to necro this thread?
-
3 RepliesThis is either A) a troll B) a year two player who bought a legacy engram and got Gjally. If it's B... Have we got a story for you my friend.
-
2 RepliesGally was HANDS DOWN the best heavy before the taken King. You must be new here, so let me tell you how this goes... Oh you don't have a gally for Crota or prison? GTFO
-
2 RepliesCmon troll, you can do better than this.
-
18 RepliesSo many salty desticles... They are all so dumb... They should grow up and learn how bad density is...
-
4 RepliesToo bad my falcon punches are more powerful than your norfleet.
-
1 ReplyBorderlands weapons are meant to be extremely over the top, you can't compare them to destiny.
-
1 ReplyYou're a -blam!-ing idiot
-
1 ReplyWTF did I just read? These forums never cease to amaze me...
-
4 RepliesNow I know why they have a saying"comparing apples and oranges". It's for stupid things like this.
-
4 RepliesMy only real complaint comes from the rng statement, as that's a comparison of how the games handle the gun, not the actually gun itself. If you were to argue that, then at least add that gjallerhorn can be bought from a vendor in some instances while norfleet cannot.
-
3 RepliesThese guns both being rocket launchers can be compare but the fact that they're from completely different games makes this absolutely irrelevant.
-
1 Replynerf to op
-
1 ReplyYou realize that Borderlands is obsolete, right?
-
1 ReplyAgreed norfleet is better in every way. Gjallarhorn is trash.
-
3 RepliesTHIS IS NOT BORDERLANDS!
-
1 ReplyWhat's your point exactly? Because i'm apparently too blind from the salt in the air
-
4 RepliesEven as a year one it still -blam!-s
-
4 RepliesDoesnt matter its a year one gun
-
2 RepliesYeah. Nukes from cod are way better than gjallarhorn. Thats your stupidly flawed logic.
-
3 RepliesConsidering that whatever a norfleet is, it's not in destiny, so this post is irrelevant.
