(Note: This is an honest comparison between the underpowered Gally and the respectable Norfleet.)
Time to lay out the facts:
The Gjallarhorn is significantly worse than any Rocket Launcher I have ever seen in any game.
Not only is the damage laughable, the pitiful amount of "wolf pack" rounds it fires reminds me of a marshmallow gun.
In order to make the most sense possible out of this post, I will compare it to one of the best Rocket Launchers I have ever seen: The Norfleet. from Borderlands 2.
Let's make out the comparisons:
Norfleet:
Deals massive damage in an extremely large radius.
Carries significantly more ammo than the Gjallarhorn.
Can instantly kill user if incompetent.
Can be used in association with Slag, an elemental variant, instantly killing bosses.
Fires several projectiles at once, each possessing amazing damage potential.
Deals extremely large amounts of DoT, in several different elements.
Ammo is plentiful and can be regened nearly instantly with the right equipment.
Blast can be nullified if wearing certain equipment.
HAS A MUCH HIGHER CHANCE OF DROPPING FROM SPECIFIC ENEMIES RATHER THAN RELYING SOLELY ON RNG
Gjallarhorn:
Deals low damage to bosses unless paired with several others.
Has homing projectiles that split after intial impact.
Homing rounds do minimal damage.
Can instantly kill user in many scenarios.
Relies on Burns to do extra damage.
Ammo is rare, and often only found from dead enemies. Worthless on bosses.
ONLY COMES IN ONE ELEMENTAL VARIANT.
Based on the previous findings, including a list of pros and cons for each, I have found that the Gjallarhorn is significantly worse than the Norfleet.
You cannot argue with this.

2 RepliesEdited by inphablue: 5/9/2015 8:46:41 AMLol. This was a funny post, but people really can't get such a simple joke and start calling the OP some lame ass insults? This thread proved how dumb the community is... "you don't have a gally so you can't tell scrub" "low grimoire" Seriously, really sad how pathetic this community is. Definitely, undoubtedly, the worst community for a game by far.

Dude, u have got to be kidding me. Why would u compare it with a gun from another game? Just saying your reference is going to tick some people off. (Which I will laugh at) I don't have ghorn so I am not gonna get really involved

See the only thing that makes this point invalid and this is very well thought out is you have to different games with different stat rolls attack stats health max and very many other "physical" changes. So in destiny ghallarhorn is the best and in borderlands norfleet is the best. Even though visually both games are similar aswell as the shoot to loot/rng type combo. They are incredibly different at there core or damage/health rolls.

1 ReplyGet a Gjallerhorn then write something about it.

And I cannot bring an STA52 into Crucible, and the VC32 pees over the Destiny snipers, but guess what DIFFERENT GAMES. And yes I like Hyperion shot guns

1 ReplyThat's like comparing the Praedyth's Revenge to the Intervention from CoD, it doesn't work like that.
-
To be fair, they're two different games with two different stat systems. I still don't like Gjallarhorn, I'm just pointing this out.
-
Well I'm sure if Guardians could use this weapon they would.
-
I prefer the doom rocket launcher. The fire rate, the no reloading, and the massive ammo capacity all add up to awesomeness.
-
Looking for the satire hashtag... No? Okay then

2 RepliesWell going with your logic I'll take Fat Man from fallout nv over any rocket launcher any day

Edited by Fupi: 5/9/2015 5:57:39 PMYou just compared destiny, a low damage base game to a game that's been out for 3 years and has had many DLC's, And has over powered guns, BL2 goes up to level 72 and has 8 OVERPOWERED levels. In destiny, we have 20 XP levels, and 12 light levels. Gjallarhorn is supposed to be like that, it has its moments and doesn't have its moments. Don't compare a norfleet, which does up in the millions in damage to a Ghorn which does up to thousands in damage, Go play your hacker filled game while we play a balanced game. Meanwhile you don't have Ghorn to actually tell if it's good for the game it's in. You just went off of opinions and a few YouTube videos.
