(Note: This is an honest comparison between the underpowered Gally and the respectable Norfleet.)
Time to lay out the facts:
The Gjallarhorn is significantly worse than any Rocket Launcher I have ever seen in any game.
Not only is the damage laughable, the pitiful amount of "wolf pack" rounds it fires reminds me of a marshmallow gun.
In order to make the most sense possible out of this post, I will compare it to one of the best Rocket Launchers I have ever seen: The Norfleet. from Borderlands 2.
Let's make out the comparisons:
Norfleet:
Deals massive damage in an extremely large radius.
Carries significantly more ammo than the Gjallarhorn.
Can instantly kill user if incompetent.
Can be used in association with Slag, an elemental variant, instantly killing bosses.
Fires several projectiles at once, each possessing amazing damage potential.
Deals extremely large amounts of DoT, in several different elements.
Ammo is plentiful and can be regened nearly instantly with the right equipment.
Blast can be nullified if wearing certain equipment.
HAS A MUCH HIGHER CHANCE OF DROPPING FROM SPECIFIC ENEMIES RATHER THAN RELYING SOLELY ON RNG
Gjallarhorn:
Deals low damage to bosses unless paired with several others.
Has homing projectiles that split after intial impact.
Homing rounds do minimal damage.
Can instantly kill user in many scenarios.
Relies on Burns to do extra damage.
Ammo is rare, and often only found from dead enemies. Worthless on bosses.
ONLY COMES IN ONE ELEMENTAL VARIANT.
Based on the previous findings, including a list of pros and cons for each, I have found that the Gjallarhorn is significantly worse than the Norfleet.
You cannot argue with this.

1 ReplyDo you have the gally? If not, this comparison was over before it started.

2 RepliesEdited by Sandy Claws: 5/9/2015 7:36:21 AMIn conjunction with the game and how it works it is definitely not a horrible weapon. They are games that play rather differently and considering Ghorn makes rather short work of Strike bosses/Ultra enemies makes it a top tier weapon that is truly not underpowered in it's field of use. This field being Destiny and not Borderlands where health and damage scales are widely varied.

4 RepliesEdited by Howard MoonXLII: 5/9/2015 7:29:16 AMNothing really competes with the Norfleet. Problem, wrong game. Does any hand cannon compare with a Double Penetrating Unkempt Herald with a Torgue grip? No! It's a pretty pointless comparison, frankly.
I know my Borderlands.
1 ReplyAgreed good sir.

6 RepliesWell guess if we are going to compare games might as well bring in the BFG9000......geeze

1 ReplyLol such a troll post...

2 RepliesThats like saying the p226 from bf4 is trash compared to the last word... Gtfo
-
5 RepliesBorderlands is trash and dead

2 RepliesFrom what your grimmiore states. You have zero gally kills.. Is it possible that you( like me) used the grimmiore code to get the card but don't actually have it............ I don't have it and have never used it so I have no idea besides what I've seen it do. It's most likely the best heavy in destiny so by comparison it's very good.

1 ReplyIf you want to go like that then take off all the added bonuses to the Norfleet and then compare. Without slag, without perks, without that gun to give you ammo. And then compare the Norfleet to the Gjallarhorn. Yes I agree the Norfleet is better, but we are taking about two completely different games. The Norfleet is the best in Borderlands 2, and the Gjallarhorn is the best in Destiny. It is impossible to compare the two fairly.

3 RepliesEdited by da Real B0B: 5/9/2015 7:44:54 AMfor real? how about this. since you dont have a gjally, why not get the dlc?

2 RepliesEdited by Justinsane1117: 5/9/2015 3:09:09 PMI got a norfleet drop in a night fall. Totally agree. Way better than the ghorn. You're dumb. *happy?
-
2 RepliesEr, Destiny isn't Borderlands. The Gjallarhorn isn't in Borderlands, and the Norfleet isn't in Destiny. That'd be like me saying that a Dark Templar's melee far exceeds anything in Destiny...

3 RepliesEdited by GrundleBeans: 5/9/2015 7:51:45 AMThis is one of the dumbest -blam!-ing things I've ever read on these forums.

2 RepliesTwo different games it's not a fair comparison. Gally serves it's purpose extremely well in destiny it's like saying the MORS from call of duty advanced warfare is better than efrideets spear..... makes no sense
-
1 ReplyExperimental Mirv. That's all I'm gonna say.
-
6 RepliesGjallahorn is destiny norfleet is borderlands. Enough said.
-
Norfleet/conference call + bee shield (especially pre nerf) = crying bosses.
-
6 RepliesYou don't even have the gjallarhorn scrub, just because you put in a code to get the card doesn't mean you have it. Go back to borderlands if you don't like destiny

are you a off topic user I'm pretty sure I saw a post/comment saying you made this post :D
1 ReplyNo one can argue with the Norfleet...

1 ReplyYou're right. Aesthetically ghorn may be the best looking though. Also your comparison is fine. For complex reasons a lot of people today struggle with any comparison that isn't a scientific one. A literary comparison in which a woman's hair was compared to "a black winters night sky" would really be tough for people today..Like omg that Thoreau guy compared a chicks hair to the sky omg omg mind blown..like hair and sky are two different things..lol..
