(Note: This is an honest comparison between the underpowered Gally and the respectable Norfleet.)
Time to lay out the facts:
The Gjallarhorn is significantly worse than any Rocket Launcher I have ever seen in any game.
Not only is the damage laughable, the pitiful amount of "wolf pack" rounds it fires reminds me of a marshmallow gun.
In order to make the most sense possible out of this post, I will compare it to one of the best Rocket Launchers I have ever seen: The Norfleet. from Borderlands 2.
Let's make out the comparisons:
Norfleet:
Deals massive damage in an extremely large radius.
Carries significantly more ammo than the Gjallarhorn.
Can instantly kill user if incompetent.
Can be used in association with Slag, an elemental variant, instantly killing bosses.
Fires several projectiles at once, each possessing amazing damage potential.
Deals extremely large amounts of DoT, in several different elements.
Ammo is plentiful and can be regened nearly instantly with the right equipment.
Blast can be nullified if wearing certain equipment.
HAS A MUCH HIGHER CHANCE OF DROPPING FROM SPECIFIC ENEMIES RATHER THAN RELYING SOLELY ON RNG
Gjallarhorn:
Deals low damage to bosses unless paired with several others.
Has homing projectiles that split after intial impact.
Homing rounds do minimal damage.
Can instantly kill user in many scenarios.
Relies on Burns to do extra damage.
Ammo is rare, and often only found from dead enemies. Worthless on bosses.
ONLY COMES IN ONE ELEMENTAL VARIANT.
Based on the previous findings, including a list of pros and cons for each, I have found that the Gjallarhorn is significantly worse than the Norfleet.
You cannot argue with this.

1 ReplyWho necrobumped this? :')

1 ReplyLet's be honest. Comparing anything to the norfleet really isn't fair.
-
20 RepliesConsidering how Destiny is a boring game. Easy to get useless weapons in... (Especially the gayhorn) and Borderlands is far superior in every way, ten fold... Norfleet wins. If you say otherwise you are an angry 12 year old desticle.
-
3 RepliesWhy are you even comparing them of course gally is freakjng terrible it was nerfed and only has year one
-
2 RepliesLol may ninth
-
2 RepliesHow do you compare the norfleet(which kills through walls) to the GHorn which is significantly lower damage because everything else does lower damage. While everything does 10k to 100k just from a single bullet, where as in Destiny we do up to 1k to 2k from a bullet, can you comepare the 14k to 1mil GHorn to norfleet respectively
-
What's the point of this. You can't compare these 2 guns. They simply are just not in the same league, gunplay is too vastly different in bl2
-
1 ReplyA rock is better than Gally now.

3 Replies-blam!- YOU

2 RepliesYou can't compare Borderlands and Destiny directly or Borderlands will always be above it. I'm hitting 100K on Golgoroth while he's tethered, I have weapons of light, and get a crit while in the pool of reclaimed light. 100K is a huge number on Destiny for damage. In Borderlands, I can hold 2 guns at once, one that makes them take extra damage and heals me, one that shoots like 12 explosive bullets out per shot, I get like 25% health back on the damage I do, I regenerate ammo, and can solo every activity in the game, and hitting millions in damage is a normal sight. The difference is that Borderlands got old ALOT faster than Destiny, just because after you get the setup you want, nothing was a challenge after that. I loved it to death, but the 2nd one was just broken once you hit the OP levels.

1 ReplyI see what you did there Op. I see it.

2 RepliesHeyyy summernoob!
-
1 ReplyThe mindset of 90% of Raid groups (i made that up) caused bungie to nerf it. Nothing was wrong with it. It wasnt even OP...it was just Destiny's player base.

13 RepliesEdited by Krunchy: 9/28/2015 2:28:23 PMAre you new? Of course the gjallarhorn isn't good now, but it was fantastic in year 1. Edit: this was my idiot moment of the day, I didn't look at the date of the post. Disregard my comment.

4 RepliesHm comparing guns front a different game and one is no longer relevant and usable.... This mute button is very handy
-
6 RepliesWhy say this in a place where people with opinions are? Bungie nerfed it to nothing and it's a year one, of course it'll suck now. You couldn't get in certain raid groups without one in year one.

2 RepliesYour ghost regrets that it revived you

3 RepliesEdited by Psyggie: 9/28/2015 2:05:29 PMYou are a noob and ignorant lol nice grimiore and level 31 noob.

15 RepliesLol says the person with a max character level of 31... You never experienced the true boss annihilating power of Gjallarhorn in its full glory. Grimoire under 3k... You are a year two or HoW player, and you weren't even good at HoW if you had it. Gjallarhorn was overpowered and still would be if it had carried on. Don't make comments if you don't know anything about what you are commenting aboutm
