Praedyths revenge is probably the best pvp sniper.
Impact is irrelevant for pvp. All OHK to the head and 2 shot kill to the body. Praedyths has max stability, fast rof, ambush (low zoom scope), and a 6 round mag. It's perfect in every way.
It's not that great in PvE due to the low impact.

Disagree. Impact has a LOT to do with what your target is likely to do if you miss the head shot. With a low impact sniper rifle, unless you routinely double-tap...odds are you going to have a target that is pissed off, and looking to come hunt you down. With a high-impact rifle, if you hit them with a body shot, they'll survive.....barely....and they only thing they'll be thinking about doing is finding a hole to climb into to and pull the dirt in on top of them, until they can recover. Which gives you plenty of time to NOT BE THERE, when they decide to come looking for the sniper who shot them.

There are usually trade offs for high impact. High impact snipers have a low rof, low stability, and low mag size. With a low impact sniper it's the opposite but it has enough to make up for the lack of impact and then some. The rof is fast enough to hit them again before they know where you are and you have enough rounds in case you miss. But what makes it even better is if you're a good sniper and can land headshots consistently, you can take out groups of people pretty fast.

There are trade-off to everything. When I'm sniping I'm not looking to take out lots of targets. What I'm looking to do is dominate certain lanes of traffic, and deny the other sides access to certain parts of the map. So immobilized and on the defensive works just as well for my purposes as splattered all over the walls. High impact snipers are best for making sure your target is either dead, panicked, or rethinking their plan to take whatever you're defending.

Edited by Kilo: 5/6/2015 6:58:18 PMI disagree. I think if you are already a decent sniper than using a low impact sniper makes more sense. You have more to gain from it than a high impact one. If you are not great at sniping than a high impact one will work better.

Edited by kellygreen45: 5/6/2015 8:24:55 PMIt works for your style because you are primarily looking to kill. When I'm sniping I'm looking to terrorize and intimidate. Killing is simply a MEANS to that end. Not the end in itself. In fact, If I'm doing my job properly, I QUICKLY run out of targets to shoot at. Because opponents get tired of dying---or being pinned down and hiding----and simply stop challenging me for control of whatever part of the map I"m looking to deny them access to. Or better still, abandon their strategy to come after me in particular.....in which case I'm looking to just melt away.

If you shoot then switch to primary then impact matters.

Lol wut

Well... Technically impact isn't COMPLETELY irrelevant. Hight impact snipers can one shot with final round.
-
So can my low impact sniper, with a headshot.
-
What olivebug meant was that it can one shot with final round without a headshot. You can one shot someone's big toe to kill them.
-
Yeah I know but I can do the same with a headshot while having more ammo, stability, rof, and a different ability than final round. Basically what I'm trying to say is if you are already a decent sniper then using a low impact sniper will be better.

Same here, Praedyth's Revenge all day. Who goes for body shots anyway, headhunting is the way to go.
