Just curious as to your thoughts on the prices for gear and weapons in iron banner. I always buy two of each weapon and use one for rerolling until I get a decent roll then roll the other until it's perfect. Just buying two weapons is around 22k so even if you bought one of each weapon, armor, shader, emblem and class item you would need to max out glimmer at least twice and then some.
In my opinion prices should be dropped. Iron banner is enough of a grind and considering it's only a week long, you don't have a lot of time to hit rank 5 and farm glimmer especially if you want to rank up more than one class.
Thoughts?
*EDIT* So It seems like the community is split on pricing but most are in agreement that the glimmer cap should be raised.

1 ReplyKeep the prices, raise the glimmer cap. In should be able to save up in advance and have enough for everything. I got screwed because I did the invective bounty just before. Stupid me.
-
Glimmer cap really needs to be raised
-
Id say prices are fine but the glimmer cap is a joke. Maybe I'm too used to games that have 99,999,999,999 cap....
-
It's so easy to farm glimmer anyway, what's the point?

Edited by BigDaddyE47: 5/5/2015 5:13:48 PMI plan up for IBs so I didn't have a problem - bought 3 helmets, 2 snipers and the hand cannon so spent over 60k and didn't farm. You gotta bank your beads and banners.
-
I spent about 70000 this IB without Glimmer farming . You just Can't handle your Money bro, always have some in the Bank (vault) for times like this.

2 RepliesEdited by Papa John: 5/5/2015 12:38:38 PMHere's the best glimmer farm. Go to exclusion zone. Put on hard. Activate resupply codes. Proceed to kill everything. But when there is 2 phalanxes left, have them kill you. Rinse and repeat. You can get 11000 glimmer in 30 min
-
We all have 3 weeks between each IB.Save your glimmer and Cryptard cashins if you plan on participating.
-
TOO DAMN HIGH!
-
I store my cryptarch things (worth 200 glimmer) in my bank then turn them in when needed. It allows you to have more than 20k on hand.
-
Weapons are high because you can re roll them. That should change once HoW comes out considering you'll be able to reroll any weapon. Doubt it will change, but it should.
-
2 RepliesIt's not that the prices are too high...the glimmer cap is way too low.
-
It's fine how it is. Makes it so the average person can't buy everything, and has go set goals for the 1 or two things they want. Keeps stuff rare
-
Yes the prices are ridiculous but that's because your meant to earn it and as long as your fast at ranking up, you can do that glimmer farming with plenty of time left in the banner. Hell, I started Wednesday (without a class item, mind you), hit rank 3 and bought Efrideet's and the Chest on Thursday, and got to rank 5 Saturday, glimmer farmed the gatekeepers and picked up a helmet. It's not that hard
-
The armor pieces would be fine in price, if we could just raise the glimmer cap...
-
Edited by blades of honor: 5/5/2015 12:56:59 PMPrice is fine. I have both sets of helmet & chest armor on all 3 of my characters(hunter, warlock, & titan). Only needed helmets for my hunter so that saved me a lil glimmer grind. My titan & warlock needed both. Didn't get the 36 arm & leg sets for them when iron banner had them last. I think the prices are fine, its the glimmer cap that hurts us. If they raised it to 50,000(glimmer cap), i'd be very happy
-
You know, those Network Keys, Axiomatic Beads, House Banners and stuff? Save them.
-
i think prices are fine. if anything, an increase in the glimmer cap would be nice.
-
It's meant to be a grind
-
1 ReplyI think the armor is fine where it's at since it is endgame equipment. However the weapons should be less expensive. I would be fine with a 3 to 4k drop in price on those but make them obtainable at level 4 and 5.

Considering I had to buy 2 armors for each + 2 snipers... For 82k... Yeah too high
-
Edited by terra mystix: 5/4/2015 9:51:56 PMThe prices are fine. I got to rank 5 about 8 hrs ago with my warlock. I also bought the chest, helmet, both shaders, both emblems, warlock bond and both guns. I took the time to farm glimmer because i knew i had to. Next Iron Banner, im using my Hunter and doing it again. Then the one after, its my Titans Turn. Don't try to do 2 or 3 characters & farm 40k + glimmer each. Do one character each IB.
-
The price is too dang high!
-
You should be able to buy everything with the max glimmer. So either lower prices or increase the glimmer cap. My 2 cents
-
Maybe lower prices slightly for each rank beyond when you can buy something? So if the item is rank 3 then you would get two small discounts from getting to rank 5 That would actually make rank 5 worth it even if all you want is at rank 3.
