If being naive is a sin worthy of punishment, then we are all deserve punishment.

Not saying that. I'm saying that if you don't punish the kid for doing something wrong, that he will keep trying to do more stuff like that in the future.

You also seem to fail in recognising that this particular solicitation was a scam meant to victimize another individual the entire time. How can such intent be perceived as noble, especially when the victim is a naive child?
