The Human/Fallen Future (Theory)

With recent revelations about the House of Wolves and the Prison of Elders, I decided to do a Fallen theory on the similarities they have with humanity. Hope you enjoy! -PLASMA Ever notice how similar the Fallen are to humanity? Think about it: 1. The Speaker/Archon communicates directly to the Traveller/High Servitor in exchange for Light/Ether which grants them powers. 2. The Humans/Fallen are led by a Commander/Kell and Lords/Barons that act as generals. 3. Without the Light/Ether that the Traveller/High Servitors provide, the Humans/Fallen would have likely become extinct. These similarities can't be ignored, but whereas the Fallen have split into multiple Houses, humanity is still a unified group. That said, the division seems to have already started, the City recently emerged from the "Faction Wars", and it seems that the Consensus, the City's governing democracy, won't be able to stop another breakdown. But I have a theory on the matter. Perhaps the Fallen's similarities with humanity are not coincidental, but rather as a result of similar circumstances. Perhaps the Traveller once blessed the Fallen but, under the strains caused by the Darkness, abandoned them after they began to fight amongst each other. Pressed to survive in the absence of their former-God, the Fallen Factions (now known as Houses) created (or possibly found) the High Servitors, and exchanged their freedom for survival and powers rivalling (and now exceeding) those that the Traveller granted. The Servitors always looked, to me, like Darkness-infused versions of the Traveller and it's Ghosts. They also seem to fill a similar role, but the main difference is that the Traveller, so far, has done nothing but gift humanity while the Servitors seem to require fuel (suggested by Patrol Mission objectives) and even sacrifices (notice the dead, greying Fallen corpses surrounding Sepiks Prime?). This need for energy and an invasion by the Darkness seem to be valid reasons for why the Fallen abandoned their home world to become nomadic scavengers (think of a sort of neo-Dead Orbit) and pursued the Traveller to find fresh civilisations to plunder. Their pre-contact hostility towards humanity seems to indicate that they were prepared to invade us and implies that they have had past experience. Conclusion: In conclusion, the Fallen are what we may become; beings once graced by the Traveller's Light that experienced a similar Golden Age that was ended by the arrival of the Darkness. Resistance was once unified but, like ourselves, the Fallen fell apart into warring Factions. Seeing what it's chosen had become, the Traveller abandoned them and they abandoned their planet in pursuit. In exile, each Faction (now known as a House) created a High Servitor to replace the Traveller. The ether they provided sustained and empowered the Fallen in exchange for energy and sacrifices. The Servitors serve a similar role to the Ghosts in that they keep their hosts alive (and possibly revive them). Speakers, Commanders and Lords became Archons, Kells and Barons and, in service of the Darkness-powered Servitors, now seek revenge against the Traveller that condemned them. Repent, ye Guardians, lest we face a similar fate to the Fallen! I ain't no space pirate!
