So, as we all know, the high RoF assault rifles for the most part right out suck, but a simple solution can fix that.
A) Increase the impact of the high RoF assault rifles
B) Lower their range to where they can only really compete in close range.
C)Buff all the AR ranges to where its about in-between the pre-buff range and post-nerf range
This way, the low RoF ones can stay effective at range while the high RoF ones can do damage on close range.
Thoughts?

1 ReplyI'll be honest, I find the high RoF ARs to be okay as is with the exception of Necrochasm. That thing needs an Atheon makeover: Persistence, Perfect Balance and a magazine of 70.

10 RepliesAlot of auto rifles get labelled as weak simply based on stats and as with alot of others shooters the stats often don't give an accurate representation of how the weapon actually performs. Low impact/high rate of fire autos can be very effective if you are trying taking out multiple targets at once and can drop enemies in the crucible faster than hand cannons if you can aim. I think most of them are fine ARs but we need to be able to test these weapons before we buy them.

I use Silimars wrath on IB and find it kinda good :/

I agree with the impact buff, but thier range was already nerfed along with impact so no more. They needed a impact buff before the nerf so yeah i doubt bungie will fix them.

So make all ARs like For the People

Edited by Xerxes2552: 5/1/2015 7:57:01 AMI know in PvE Auto Rifles need a damage buff. Also ARs need the critical modifier boosted back up as well. Even with 34-36 rounds in each mag (out of 38, no Field Scout) going into an enemy's critical point at close range, my Up For Anything struggles against everything but the weakest enemies. Can't say what needs to be done in PvP.

I'm pretty sure that eventually when additional weapon classes are implemented high rate of fire auto rifles will just be classified as sub machine guns and their damage and stats will be able to be adjusted accordingly without affecting low rate of fire auto rifles..

I have to agree, with my autorifle (Up For anything) I don't even know why I play Crucible, which is already very rare. Nearly everyone I've seen recently seems to have super fast guns with four-bullet kills and huge ammo reserves, while I'm lucky to get five kills with my autorifle.

My Lord Sir Baddy Daddy:Pending - old
I just realized that i said the wrong thing in half the post. I meant for high RoF ones to get a buff -
I was seriously disappointed when I finally got the Vanquisher VIII. I'm sure some love it but to me it seems like it doesn't know what it wants to be... It doesn't hit hard enough to be a HMG and it's too sluggish to be worth a damn as an AR against anything tougher and especially faster than an acolyte, a goblin or a vandal. I lost interest in fully upgrading it... Meh.

Edited by xZx Flames: 4/28/2015 8:19:40 PMRange of auto rifles was nerffed in the last patch as well. Don't think they need to go any further. But yes, an impact boost is needed on auto rifles (not just low ROF) across the board. They are pretty much dead now.

Yeah but unless they do 25+ damage to the body they'll never compete close range.
-
I agree with the impact part, but the range on them already sucks.
