Okay, so, I don't know if this is just me an my infinite stupidity, but I rerolled my Invective (on accident, more or less), thinking that something, just something would change. Instead, I lost all my upgrade progress, as well as getting back. . .
The same gun.
Is this something well known that I just hadn't clued in on yet?
Please help.

1 ReplyIf your weapon is already upgraded to its highest damage output, it will just reset whatever progress you have on it when you attempt to upgrade it again. It's a design flaw in that sense because it doesn't clearly tell the player how the system works. So yes, you just lost all of your progress on it without any gain. :( HOWEVER, Bungie is completely scrapping the Xur upgrade system and implementing something called "ascension" instead with the release of House of Wolves. 3 RepliesEdited by D3monCF: 4/26/2015 5:36:20 PMThis is one of those "just you having a moment" thing. Fear not, you're not the first to do it nor will you be the last. Xur's upgrades are for pre dlc era exotics, the ones with max 300 damage and max 30 light. Essentially you just wasted a shard and some glimmer to upgrade somethin that doesn't need to be upgraded. The only time it'd be rerolling is if the exotic armor he has an upgrade for has higher stats then what you have (ie a helm with 115 intellect versus the same helm you have with 109 intellect)

Edited by Seraphim Crypto: 4/26/2015 5:36:07 PMUnfortunately it's something more or less known. Xûr's upgrade system is there to up pre-dlc gear from the old to the new maximum cap of attack/defense/light. Xûr resets the progress of the weapons while doing that. You can read more in formation in the Exotic Upgrade FAQ. And in case you didn't know, exotic weapons cannot be rerolled. The perks of exotic weapons and armor are completely fixed. They will never change.

The upgrade is for people who have the old exotics with max attack of 300 or max light of 30. It's not for the newer versions that have 331 attack or 36 light

Edited by Fletchful: 4/26/2015 5:35:18 PMThe upgrades are for exotics obtained before the DLC was released. Like for an exotic's damage to be increased from 300 to 331. It is not a reroll system.
