I'm option 5. Only in the face of indisputable evidence would I ever convert.
Also, have you ever converted someone either to religion or from it? I've converted 3 people to atheism. Here's a fun question: Has The Flood ever had an influence on your religious beliefs or lack thereof? My guess is that it hasn't had any effect on over 90% of frequent users. This should be interesting.

But i think i converted someone who was on the edge to be atheist. My post:
Atheist thought process vs Faithful thought process I was just curious if everyone understands that whichever side your on both sides fundamentally think differently. Keep in mind this is a generalization it is not absolute. The traits below are not qualities you acquire by having the belief rather people that believe these things tend to have these qualities. Atheist - Logical, needs proof to accept something, thinks scientifically, questions everything to every detail. Faith - doesn't need anything but faith, scripture and God/Gods (depending on your faith). Anything outside an individuals faith is essentially false information. (So technically you aren't supposed to question your faith or look outward) They way both sides think contradict each other therefor the other sides point will always be invalid. Thus, leading to the endless debates that go in circles. Would you guys say you agree? Side Note: This thread isn't here to debate beliefs
Her replies and mine:
Lord Lucy - All these point to me being Atheist, but i believe in God ..... Me - Theres nothing wrong with that its a generalization not true for everyone. Her - I know Me - Curious what makes you believe? Her - Science has yet to prove what caused the big bang coven1182 - "we don't know" doesn't mean "god did it" though Her - If they can explain what caused the Big Bang, that'll be the nail in the coffin. It's going to be difficult to switch from oh my god to oh my goodness. Also my family is really religious, so they won't want to hear it and probably shun me. Me - I agree with what coven said and it sounds like you lean towards atheism but are scared too because of your family. Is that the case? Her - Not scared, I suppose, but i just don't want people constantly trying to convert me back. It'll be quite bothersome. Me - Don't let people dictate what you believe, which ever you choose whether it be believing or not believing stand by it because its what you believe. You shouldn't hide what you believe because it goes against the majority. I completely understand though the discomfort of expressing yourself in an environment that would shun you because many people can be very condemning. Her - I'm glad someone understands. The the first time i told my dad i didn't believe in God, however, he showed me a picture of Jesus's Shroud and I had no idea how to argue that. Me - My biggest thing is people should think for themselves, you shouldn't accept something just because you were raised that way, everyone's that way etc. Atheist are a minority in the world but that doesn't make it wrong or bad. Every civil rights movement in the United States started with minorities banding together and speaking up. Any revolution is a minority fighting the majority. (Not that atheist need a revolution just trying to drive home the point theres nothing wrong with being a minority) You should ask questions and figure things out and whether you end up believing Christianity, Islam, Judaism, or Atheism, at least you took the time to figure it out and you should feel confidents in your beliefs. I don't know how your family is but it is possible that they will be condemning and shun you if you tell them you don't believe in God. You could always wait till your older and completely independent to come out with something like that to avoid constant issues but this is a road you have to venture down and figure things out. I guarantee there are plenty of other atheist that have been through this. Besides they shouldn't be condemning rather they should try and convince you positively. As for the shroud:In my opinion from everything i've read about the shroud its very controversial because its a holy object scientist can't really completely analyze it. While there have been some scientific test done on it all of that is up for debate and not deemed credible considering no modern test have been done to my knowledge. There latest test was by a guy of the last name Fanti but his testing isn't officially supported dating the shroud back to the time jesus died. The one prior from the late 80's came to the conclusion the shroud was from the medieval era however that was retracted because the samples they tested weren't of the original cloth. So in my opinion science truly hasn't been able to test it but considering everything in the Bible is questionable I am not going to give the shroud the benefit of the doubt. Until its proven one way or another its not different than God. You can't prove or disprove him but logic leads me to believe he isn't real. The Shroud is interesting and could be a turn around in the debate for religion if they could prove authenticity but the image of Jesus isn't an actual portrait of him, thats what people believe he looked like. I could go on and on about everything but thats something you need to do. Research ask questions from both sides and all angles and reach a conclusion. When you do, if you do stand by it proud.
