There's an attraction to evil, yet we long for meaning and purpose. My life changed - for the better - when I started ernestly seeking answers through the Bible. It explaims the duality you're talking about (our fallen nature), and a truly effective solution (looking to Jesus as our commander and Savior) which provides spiritual power and freedom.
I've included a link to some podcasts that address your questions

Religion (any ideals that ARE man made whether you want to argue it or not) does not interest me. I believe that there is a god but I do not wish to choose any of many religions because none of them can rightfully claim to be the correct religion that follows the real god. No one knows anything for sure so its silly to believe in something that someone else has conscripted. I believe that god is real and as long as I live life being kind and courteous to others then I will fulfill any wishes that any ethical being that created the universe would desire of me.

I'll read your post from earlier. And I'll give you a response on it too. But first I need to take care of some things.
