Everyone has this struggle. Be an adult when you should be and do the right thing. Once in a while you'll get to go let loose and be the bad guy, so just relax and live your life.

I understand that and it works for right now. Let's say that I want to go into the military (bad side decision). This is something that has truthfully interested me in the past and still sparkles a duller shine in my face today. If I were to go into the military I would be making a selfish decision because I feel like it suits me. However my good side of me doesn't believe in war, killing, etc. Also people might be deeply saddened by this decision. So how do I handle examples like this?

I can give some extra insight to this. I am in the military. First, what job would you be interested in doing in the military?

I wouldn't know. I'm an imaginative person and I'm fairly athletic. I can't stand boredom and have to have something that would be exciting as well as productive. I'm a workaholic that wants more than a desk job.

Edited by Britton: 4/19/2015 8:25:28 PMYou and I are very similar then. You would like the combat arms MOS's if you want to go enlisted. But I would recommend going officer. I'm enlisted currently and its not mentally challenging at all. So I'm applying for warrant officer to be a pilot. Also when you're enlisted you're treated like a 10 year old. So that's another reason to go officer. You'd do well in the military.

Edited by ResonantParoxysm: 4/19/2015 8:39:35 PMMOS? What's that? The military is something that I'm unsure about though. When I was a kid it seemed like an idea that seemed awesome (because the glorified ideal seemed exciting). However as I grew up I started viewing the military as an unethical concept. The thought of killing or having to do things that disagreed with what I believed in was a turn off for me. Recently though the idea of it has grown more sensible though. In college you try to decide what person you want to become and you start asking "well what am I interested in and what am I good at." I'm not good at engineering, I'm not interested in wearing a suit and tie and signing papers. There is nothing that I can major in that will allow me to have a job or career that satisfies me. I look at the military though and I see that people work hard, and they have potential to help people. Plus exploring a few places in the world is something that I wouldn't mind doing either if the opportunity rises. The military is a job option that has in it what I want out of a job except it takes out some things that I want out of life, like the friends and family that I have. I see myself as the person who wants to be apart of the military because i might be good at it but can't because of the current predicament called life.

Military Occupational Specialty(MOS) is just what the army calls a job. You seek something rewarding, challenging, impactful, and fulfilling. I had that when I was a forest ranger, but I had to quit because the pay was shitty. As far as the military jobs go and how and what you do it really depends on what you're doing. You need to investigate the job options and see if anything looks attractive. There are a lot of different jobs across all the different branches, and free college, and seeing the world is awesome. (I just returns from South Korea)

I'll definitely look into it. Thanks.
