So when I had first heard that Disney bought the rights to anything Lucas Arts, my heart had broken. It had not only smashed into pieces when I heard that Disney was aiming for a seventh addition, but I was infuriated. If you've seen anything Disney has done recently, it's pure shit. Even their television shows make me want to vomit, that isn't my point though. Being born back in 96' my dad had shown me all of the Star Wars movies and we watched the prequels in the theaters. It has a very special place in my heart, so when I heard that a seventh installment was going to be made it pissed me off. Disney could easily ruin one of the greatest franchises in history.
I had then learned that JJ Abrams was going to be directing it and the majority of the original cast was going to be in the movie. I personally really love JJ Abrams. I think he's a fantastic director. The issue still stands though, this movie could either make or break the SW legacy.
Months later I saw the first trailer. I was quite thrilled to see it. Then on Friday I witnessed the second trailer and I nearly came.
I want to believe that Star Wars VII will be a great movie, but the verdict is still out. Let's see what happens in December....

I'm just happy it's away from George Lucas. Great universe ideas and concepts, terrible director. Disney has actually had a pretty good track record in recent years in the realm of cinema. Marvel has been posting massive success on all fronts after all. The first trailer was all right, not great. The second one was great. It looks likes solid film.
The only good prequel was Episode III.
1 ReplyI have never really doubted Disney with Star Wars, I mean everything they need is there: Tons of money, ability to hire talent, relatively good rep, and original characters still alive. They seem to be using all these assets so gj Disney.
I actually thought the prequels are pretty alright.
It ain't out yet so I don't think anything

2 RepliesDisney knows what they are doing. And, you like the prequels? Well your opinion is invalid then.
