New idea. Thoughts?

Now if this idea was already posted, awesome I didn't see the topic. I've seen trading threads all over the forums. But I haven't seen anything explained like this idea. Instead of just a simple player initiating a trade and giving items away, why not create a trading tower vendor? Example; Player A goes to vendor in tower. This particular player has 4 ghorns and doesn't have a last word. For a posting fee of 5 strange coins Player A puts a listing in the vendor that he had a ghorn and wants a last word. Now the vendor would take the ghorn, to prevent bogus posts, and now that player waits to see if someone wants it. Player B sees the post in the vendor, and has an extra last word in his inventory. By going to the vendor he selects the post that Player A initially made, and by doing so a confirmation pops up saying 1 last word is required. Confirming that Player B wants to complete the trade it takes the last word from his inventory and gives him Player A's ghorn in return. When player A goes back to check the vendor he will receive notification the trade was completed and reward him with his last word. Now I'm thinking that 5 coins can be a fee to post a trade. And every day the post is up it would cost 1 mote of light or be deleted. You can deposit how many motes you want to keep it up or just let it be automatically deleted. What is everyone's thoughts on this function?

  • Strange coins for a post and one more to keep it up. Seems like a fair trade, and would give strange coins a real use anymore. I understand a lot of people would be raving mad over an open market for guardians to sell or buy gear, aka have people with raid armor who have never raided or have a Ghorn. Or worse people just giving away gear like full raid sets for 5 glimmer or 1 strange coin or something like that. However i can also see it being AWESOME for people whom do happen to have say for example, an extra oversoul and really wanted a beast like fate bringer. Both beastly weapons, but why does anyone need four oversouls?

Horrible idea. Do we really want real world trading in destiny and scamming. Player A selling ghorn 20bucks irl. How many ppl that have player 500+ hours wouldn't take that deal. Leading to tens of thousands of micro transactions I doubt bungie would ever want that. Then ud have all those cry baby's that I paid player A and got scammed posts -.- Unless.... U do trading in fireteams only, like right after the activity ends. no way in hell ppl would be able to make irl money off of that since rng system is so crap. #imAgenius

As I've said before... What about gambling Player A and Player B are friends on XBox Live Player A: hey, I bet you I can get a 2.5 KD with the no land beyond in Rumble. Player B: Hah, no way idiot. I'd give you my G-Horn if you could do that. Player A: would you? Player B: Yeah, sure, whatever, it's not possible anyway. Player A: Alright, I'll trade you my No land beyond for the Gjallarhorn. Let's go into rumble, shall we? Player A and B get into a friendly competition and Player A pulls a 2.8 with No Land Beyond Player A: alright, where's my Gjallarhorn? Dilemma breaks out for player B, doesn't want to lose Gjallarhorn, but doesn't want to lose general over reacting friend that we all most likely have. If it's a jerk friend, he would get mad that there would be no Gjallarhorn for his hard work, and freaks out. For the select few that are jerks, this could be a problem. For others, just brush it off your shoulder, making a joke about your No Land Beyond being the best gun. But for the over reacting minority, it might have a few problems arise. I don't know, just a thought
TLDR
• Pokemon x and y trading system. Makes sense. I still don't want it, but it could make sense.

                • Not bad, but it will never happen. The game designed around a very small amount of gear and a broken RNG mechanic makes obtaining said gear a total crap chute. Since the storytelling is nonexistent and the actual content is minimal, Bungie relies on the desire to obtain that gear to keep players coming back and mindlessly hashing out the same tired missions again and again. Anything that might accelerate a player's ability to obtain that gear is never going to see the light of day and your suggestion falls squarely within that category. People really need to let the dead horse that is the desire for trading just rest in peace. Bungie knows you want it, they just don't care.
