Strikes, Cheese, and You

Given the high stakes of Nightfall strikes (you know, the whole part about going to orbit if you wipe), it makes sense to use cheese spots. It's not entirely necessary but it's at least understandable. With that out of the way, how do you feel about people who use cheese spots during regular strikes? What about the weekly heroic? This is both genuine curiosity and sort of a vent post. I've done two of my heroic's for the week and both times, people used the cheese spot. It just makes Valus take that much longer. He's not a hard boss.

  • It depends how many hours you have put in IMO. I don't particularly enjoy the Valus bossfight, so even though I could do it legitimately I'd rather just jump up to the light fixture thing and drop him quickly; I'm not missing out on an experience I haven't had before. I do basically the same thing with Sepiks, Sekrion and Aksor because it generally goes faster that way. I try to avoid the ones that take longer, like the boxes against Valus or the shrieker room with Phogoth.

If there using the hide behind a box cheese it takes forever but if they use the the roof piercing cheese it's 10 times faster Also cheesing makes it a lot more fun

    • When i see players in the safe room in regular strikes, i can't stop thinking they are noobs or cowards, both ? But in Nightfall or Heroic i think it's normal, in nightfall doing it with the "normal way" is almost impossible, i did it sometimes, but not a lot.

    • I don't do it often but sometimes I cheese the walker on the prime strike. It's possible his sensors can't reach that far but it's the future and it's alien technology so whatever. I'll peck at him with ice breaker and another sniper if I feel like it until he dies starting from the turret

    • The lamp? That place is fairly open I prefer it instead of hiding behind the crates. As long as I have Gjallarhorn and Black Hammer it doesn't take too long. Although for regular strikes I'm just looking to win it the fastest way possible and having an advantage over Taurac's tracking missiles is a big help.

      • If you cheese in Roc, you shouldn't be there. Roc is ridiculously easy (and fun) to run around and punch/shotgun everything - even the boss in some cases. I have no time for people who will sit in a back room at level 26.

      • I'll cheese nightfall every week, but it's just not fun to cheese roc strikes

Tbh ur point for the nightfalls spot on. Another reason I use that spot for weekly to is because if we die in the open then we are harder to grt to, meaning one or two ppl may have to do the boss alone. I just see this is a way to do it with the least amount of risk involved. But I use the ghorn with a friend of mine and we just pop synth and stand in the doorway. IMHO strikes are a jk we finish the boss in seconds. Anyway u guys can make then harder:)? Not more tedious like just giving them more hp. Maybe have the boss do different things such as teleport himself and u to different maps?

        • If you're cheesing a ROC Strike you're wasting time. They shouldn't be difficult at all if you've been playing the game for any length of time. Stay out there with your team, generate some orbs so you can chain your supers together (that's what orbs are for) and keep constant damage on the boss. It's not hard.

        • I rarely cheese nightfalls, only when I want to run through them faster tbh

        • I usually don't cheese until I die by not cheesing. A.k.a. I die by an add or the boss. And that is the nightfall. I try to not cheese in weekly heroics unless the group I'm with is very bad and I have to carry them.

          • It's unnesasary for regular strikes since even with mediocre weapons you can still knock out all the adds and deal with the boss, for the weekly heroic it may or may not be nessasary depending if there is a burn on as this could cause a wipe or two. But at least with the heroic you won't get sent to orbit.

          • I reckon the nightfall 'cheese spots' are fine, in the weekly on level 30, yeah maybe. Regular strikes no

          • I hate it when people do that for example Phogoth people still stay inside the room which is pretty bad because it's not a nightfall and its a lot faster doing it the normal way

          • Aha, a ninja! I've found you! Honestly cheese spots on heroics aren't even necessary. They just waste time ._.

Nightfall, maybe weekly depending on group and which it is, Is fine. Outside of that, cheese is so very bad

            • Heroic I can understand, but if you're running regular strikes it's really not worth it.
