You attempt to make it seem ludicrous by citing as big a jump as you can, but that is simply misrepresentation. It is like showing someone some cavemen in a hole and then a huge metropolis - it doesn't make much sense without the process in between. Tiny changes together eventually build up, and a million tiny changes become one big change, and after millions upon millions of these, do you think it unreasonable that the nature of the creature might not be exactly as it once was? Of course it isn't, it makes perfect sense, and is supported by the fossil record which evidences the development of animals over time (and it is a LOT of time).
And I cannot help notice you have already abandoned your ramshackle excuse for a replacement theory, and all the better for it.
