Very well put. I found a Neil Degrasse Tyson video that shows how even light can disprove creationism. Now, if you want to be considered a creationist, you not only have to deny evolution and the Big Bang (amongst other things), you know have to believe that the speed of light is about triple the calculated value.

Have you ever heard of the creationist "day age" theory?
-
Pretty sure I have. But remind me.
-
It's the theory that before God created the sun there were no 24 hour days, allowing the first "day" when God created the heavens (space, other galaxies, etc.) and the earth to last potentially billions of years in today's time. It's usually what old earth creationists believe.

Edited by Britton: 4/12/2015 6:18:46 AMThen yes I have heard it. The issue is its built on the assumption that god created the earth, the sun, etc. Instead of them all naturally forming like we observe in space. But there is no evidence to support that.
-
Yeah if you don't believe the Bible than it seems very foolish, doesn't it?
-
Yup. Because the bible is based on the bible.
-
this argument makes absolutely no sense in an anti-creationist argument. still agree with the facts given, but who doesnt? also, theres a theistic post waiting for you just outside. go check it out. i warmed it up for you also im still counting Kappa
-
False. There are creationists who believe in both evolution and the big bang.
-
Then they aren't creationists.
-
Yes, they are. They are not YEC, but they are creationists nontheless. You must be new to this.
-
I believe the proper term is intelligent design.
-
Specifically regarding evolution, yeah. But they are still creationists. They believe God was the causation of the Big Bang. Aristotle was a creationist, and so was Newton. The idea that there was an uncaused cause at the beginning of it all, is a philosophical concept which is still falls under creationism.
-
Sure why not.
-
Irrationality abounds in the creationist belief.
-
Yas so were irrational so we should die because we're holding humanity back
-
Lol, numenor's a creationist? What's with you and this whole dying thing? You replied to me with that like three times today.

If that's what you want to think, I'm not going to stop you.
