Because we believe Christ is our savior
-
You also believe that Jesus walked on North American soil. But there no evidence that He was even here. Mormonism is nothing like Christianity.
-
Okay no. Jesus descended from Heaven after leaving Jerusalem in the form of an resurected being. He came to America and taught the Native Americans, or the Nephites and the Lamenites. Eventually the Lamenites became wicked again and started worshiping their false gods again and eventually killed off all the Nephites, but not before the last Nephite, Moroni, finished summarizing the Golden Plates (the Book of Mormon) that his father, Mormon, had started summarizing. It was the history of the gospel in America and after he died the world could not sustain the true church until America which had freedom of religion. Joseph Smith then had the truth revealed into him from the angel of Moroni and he was led to the buried Golden Plates which he translated to English (the Book of Mormon).

I'm a Mormon. We have the book of Mormon. The book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. In there it talks about when Jesus was in America. Also, the book of Mormon does not replace the bible. We believe in the bible and the book of Mormon. The book of Mormon talks about the bible and has quotes from it.

God says "do not change the Bible". And also. Where in the Bible does it say you can become a god?

Edited by Jihhan: 5/16/2015 12:41:04 AMI don't intent to know the Bible hardcore but, didn't Jesus commanded us to be perfect like His Father whom is in Heaven is perfect? I believe that's in the Bible, would He give us a commandment we cannot fulfill? Because that would sound like a troll to me :D, but again that's something I found interesting :) I don't intent to know hidden things or anything like that.

We did not change the bible. I don't know where the bible says that we can become Gods. That would take some time to find.
-
Edited by pmbannedIcy: 4/21/2015 10:09:01 PMIt doesn't. Mormonism believes that you can become a god.
-
Yes that's true. But it's not like we die and POOF we become a God. It's something I don't fully understand myself, so I don't have all the answers for that. God wants us to become like him and become Gods. Like I said, I don't fully understand that. It's something I'm learning about in my seminary class.

Edited by pmbannedIcy: 4/21/2015 10:30:54 PMWe are to be like God as in we are supposed to act like him but we aren't supposed to be God himself.
-
Yes. I think we should try to be like God, but not be God. We will become like God in the next life.
-
Edited by Jihhan: 5/16/2015 12:42:26 AMYeah I don't think we can be God himself because He already is, don't be ridiculous people haha. So the idea in Mormonism is not that a person becomes God, but rather is that a person can emulate God, having same power and knowledge and all that, that's what it sounds like to me, I mean we do have all eternity to learn right!? interesting...

Edited by pmbannedIcy: 4/22/2015 12:27:16 AMIn the next life (heaven) we will be perfect. Like angels. So yes
-
Edited by Jihhan: 5/16/2015 12:42:57 AMWhere in the Bible says that angels are perfect? :D, for real, I couldn't find it anywhere... Perhaps you can guide me :), and I hope you don't mind me asking.
