What do you think of this possible new discovery. Are now closer to life? :P

I like the part about it explaining why we don't have as many satellite galaxies as we supposedly should. For some reason it evokes the feeling of someone realizing their dick is small.

Edited by OaklandPaintbalr: 1/15/2013 12:45:51 AMFor 11 days, The Hubble Telescope pointed towards a seemingly empty patch of space. This is the photo that came back, There an estimated 10,000 galaxies in this patch of sky alone, estimated to be 13 billion years old. This photo was only in a tiny fraction of visible sky. Makes you wonder; something may look barren, but it's full of more than you could imagine.

And we also just found the largest known object in the universe. Makes us look so insignificance, doesn't it.

Do you mean the Universe? Or our galaxy?

correction: the Milky Way is a galaxy, not a universe. You sound like a damn fool when you say it like that.
-
Hell, less than 100 years ago (until the 1920's), the Milky Way was considered "the universe". What we now know as other galaxies were smudges on telescopes an were all labeled "nebulae". I am not surprised that we're still figuring out "how many trees are in the forest".

Until we can actually observe our own universe from a distance facts or theories about it will constantly change, though I cannot wait for the day we do truly discover what our universe looks like.
