Basically I was just wondering if there was any specific armours or rifles out there that give boosts to sniping e.g. carry more ammo.
I'm currently using the gunslinger subclass and am only lvl 26.
this is for PVE.

I don't have one for sniping but I have one for swordbearer
stick me with the pointy end
Ice Breaker. Infinite ammo and you're good. Otherwise, there's really nothing much to it - armour only allows you to carry more ammo, which is a let down anyway.
-
Well... If u ever run pvp, make sure you use Ambush. That's all I've got.
-
Hunters trance & i 4got the name of the other perk But they increase stability (less recoil) and increase precision damage for all guns. Its very helpful & lets u keep pumping out bullets constantly & accurately.
-
Raid armor. Vanguard armor. Exotic armor. Take your pick of it says more ammo for "sniper" or more ammo for special weapons". Then you are good.

Patience and time with field scout will let you hold 24 rounds. (what I use on my hunter) Also, the exotic crest of alpha lupi gives you more special and hand cannon ammo. (But I use mask of the third man instead)

How to snipe in destiny: 1.get a felwinters lie 2. Pull the trigger

Aim for the head. Best advice I can give you.

Quickscopes only

Thank you for your comments everyone, I was hoping to get a configuration together to make my sniper rifle more viable as a main weapon for pve, maybe I am just being greedy though. I will try and get my hands on the icebreaker if i can.

Raid gear has different ammo sets. That or iron banner. I would advise trying to get chest pieces in crota, and hopefully they'll give you more sniper ammo.

pve sniping is cake. Most of the time you should just be shooting at bosses which have gigantic critical spots. Tip: When you headshot stun an enemy, do not try to get another headshot while they are still in the reeling animation. Leave your reticle in roughly the same position and wait for the target's head to go right back. Another one: Get a good sense of what vertical level your reticle needs to be at to get a headshot on whatever enemy you're shooting at, and then leave it there and strafe side to side to put the reticle on the head. this is especially important in pvp. Making vertical *and* horizontal adjustments is incredibly difficult in that environment.

felwinters lie is the way to go

Black Hammer is the absolute king to kill any "boss" fight... It has a greater impact that Ice Breaker which makes pretty much any target stagger, and the "White Nail" perk means infinite shots if done correctly. Spiders, Tanks, Priests, Sepkis, etc... they all bow to the Hammer. For every other part of raids, I would go with Ice Breaker for the infinite ammo.

Don't miss
-
Use the gunslinger trance for low stability ones and then get a sniper woh spray and play

The other guys here have covered the good stuff. Icebreaker, if not then the Vanguard LDR, headshot and cover. With the LDR, or other snipers you might need to nip out for ammo now and then, but other than that, armours won't give any more benefit to you really, than making the shots count more often. It sounds cheeky, but simply try not to miss. :)

Felwinters lie best sniper you'll ever own.
