Next time you're in a Party Chat, go to the Party Settings> Chat Audio. This will select which chat you are actually participating in. Make sure it is set to 'Prioritize Party'. Let me know how it goes.

I always set it to prioritize party. The issue for me is that asap as I plug in my headset (even without being in a voice chat on PSN), it automatically enables the voice chat in-game. For simple yet important privacy reasons, I want to be able to turn off the voice chat in-game altogether, so my mic isn't constantly active asap as I connect it to the controller Thanks for the replies though!.

  • Oh, that is a feature of the game. Any active microphone will begin transmitting from the moment that it is plugged in. Is there a mute button on your headset?

  • I'm afraid your comments are besides the point. As stated in my first post, I do not want people in-game to listen into conversations i have with friends on psn if i play destiny while at the same doing voip through psn. so you surely agree that pressing the mute button on the mic defeats the purpose. but thanks anyways for the replies and the attempted help. i appreciate it.

  • Alright, I've consulted with some people more informed than myself. Let's keep at it. Now, you say that you are in BOTH Party Chat and Fireteam chat simultaneously, yes? Can you confirm for me that you are able to intentionally communicate with both parties at the same time. Does your mic input feed into both conversations? I just want to be sure that I'm understanding your issue correctly.

I am not intentionally communicating with both parties, that's the core of my issue. I do not want my fireteam/teamchat to be able to listen in to my psn voice chats. i'm not sure how much plainer I can put it. There is no feature to turn off the voice chat in-game or mute my mic in-game altogether. I, hence, consider this a major breach of privacy on sides of the game.

What I meant by intentional, is that are you able to say, "Hey Fireteam, can you hear my voice?" and get a response from your Fireteam, then turn around and say, "Hey Party Chat, can you hear my voice?" and get a response from you Party Chat. All without touching any settings. My phrasing was poor, I will endeavour to be clearer moving forward. Edit: Also, is your in game 'Voice Output Settings' set to Blended, Headset Only, or Speakers Only?

oh you meant simultaneously. yes whatever i say to my psn party can be heard by the in-game party and vice versa, otherwise i'd not have known the issue even existed. as for the output it is headset only, however, that does not matter at all as it is the input and not the output which is transfers whatever i say into my mic. as i said multiple times already: there is no option to turn off the mic or voice chat feature ingame, hence the mic radios at all times asap as it is plugged in. Hence why i want to see an emergency fix for it as i can see how people could give out sensitive information to friends and family through the psn voice chat without even realizing that their conversation is listened to by in-game team mates if those don't have their mics plugged in. As also said, i really appreciate your help. so thanks a lot. however, i'm afraid it's something only the programmers can fix.
