I became a Legend... six times

Destiny and I have a long trying relationship (don’t tell my wife, although I think she knows). I was in love before I could even put my hands on it. I was in love and trusted Bungie so much that I preordered one digital and one limited edition for my Xbox One. The game disappointed me, but I didn’t give up. As in real life, nothing is perfect and we cannot ever want and/or demand something to be exactly the way we envisioned it. It is more important to accept the flaws and move on to enjoy the good stuff. By saying that, it took me a little time to consider Destiny the best game for me ever created. After the initial disappointment I just wanted to get all achievements and finish my adventure. Once I got all achievements I wanted to get all my characters to level 30, then Crota’s End came out and I wanted to get my characters to level 32, then I wanted to get all exotic weapons and armors. Once I got that, I got a new goal of getting all VoG and Crota’s End weapons and armors. Once this was achieved, it was February 2015. It is hard to think of more challenges after you get pretty much everything the game has to offer. It was time to move on, but I couldn’t. My friend and I were talking on facebook and joking that I should now buy Destiny for my PlayStation 4. Restart the adventure and get another 3 characters to level 32. What started as a joke, became real on February 19th which was 34 days ago. I didn’t know if I really wanted to do this but something was pushing and motivating me. For those of you who deleted your characters multiple times to be able to do raid more than once a week. Trust me… it is hard to jump to a new system where you do not have teammates who can help you carry you through campaign missions. It is challenging to get from level 20 to 23 and then from 26 to 27, when you do not have any legendary armor, weapons and materials. It was not a simple completing campaign again to get to the level cap. Everything I did, was done from scratch on a new system. My only perk was my experience. I knew how to get the most of Destiny to speed up character progression. I knew how to complete raids and despite my low level I was doing my best to be an asset. I also knew when to die to not become a liability. Hunter was my first character on PS4. I picked a hunter because I knew that if I will successfully get him to level 32 I will be able to run the sword on Crota’s End to help other people out, which will ultimately help me build a friendlist of people who would like to play with me. Meantime I did not forget about my Xbox One and I was still doing Nightfall, Weekly activities and some raids. So overall in a past month I spend a lot of time in Destiny, sacrificing a lot of my free time and sleep. I also completed Solo Crota’s End on Normal on my Xbox One with a Hunter. Following Legend Himself’s footsteps. The main difference - what took him 16min, took me 4 hours (yet, I’m still proud). Finally today I picked up missing shards (I had 3 raid armor sets for over a week on my PS4) and was able to achieve the impossible. I have 6 characters with 32 level – 3 on Xbox One and 3 on PS4. In past 34 days I was also able to get few exotic weapons on my PS4 – including gjallahorn, which I picked up from a Gorgon’s chest, Vex Mythoclast and of course our favorite - No Land Beyond. Unfortunately I still do not have any PS4 exclusive exotic weapons, but I hope to get them soon. I met amazing people on both Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. You guys all rock! I thank everybody for this amazing experience and I bow to my friend – wrog – who is playing Destiny with me since the launch. Few talking points: - I am aware I’m missing one exotic helmet for a titan on Xbox One (I have it on PS4) – I deleted it. - I am also missing Corrective Measure (also have it on PS4) – also deleted it on Xbox. - I think it is a shame that 2 Mars strikes are exclusive for PlayStation 4 and they are not available on Xbox One. I personally don’t usually care much about exclusive content but in this case the exclusivity is harming both sides. Xbox One players cannot play 2 pretty cool strikes and PlayStation players cannot play these strikes in Nightfall and Weekly. It is just a shame. - There’s no visual difference between Xbox One and PlayStation 4 version of Destiny. The only thing I noticed is shorter loading times on PS4. - The same errors and glitches appear on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. - On both systems you can find awesome players and douchebags.
