Actually, it depends on the nature of the zombies. If they're the ones who are actually the dead re-animated, (graves bursting open), then there will be billions more zombies than the living. Despite the initial difficulties of exiting the coffins, the number of zombies will be at critical levels immediately.

Not really. When you consider all those bodies in the ground are going to be nothing more bones and all the soft tissue will have been gone a long time, it's not an issue. Soft tissue like muscles, will be gone destroyed quickly, so the number of zombies is limited to the recently dead.
-
Forgot about that. Plus, most of the recently dead would be like 70+ years old. Although, an airborne Zombie virus which disabled the bodies non-essential functions and caused it to focus on hunting only by diverting all bodily 'resources' to the muscles would be a significant pain in the ass.
-
The body can't really divert resources. The only thing it has like that is adrenaline. But your body needs oxygenated blood, and without that the muscles won't even work right. So any "dead" zombies are designed for failure. Basically the only realistic "zombie" is a rage virus.
