Samus
It's a No contest in that regard as well.
Consider all that you know of playing Metroid.
And compare that to what you know of playing Halo.
Can Master Chief flip through the air as a twirling electric fireball killing anything it touches? No
Can Master Chief turn into a ball and escape through tiny crevices, leaving explosive presents behind? No
Can Master Chief easily switch between fast short burst, to Charged up Shots, to Missiles? No
Can Master Chief Strafe Dodge? No
Not to mention. Samus has ALOT more health, so much health, that she doesn't have to run away from combat to let her shield recharge.
She's got enough health, that Master Chief would be dead at least 5 times over, before she got down to her last energy cannister.
(Samus has the equivalent of about 4 overshields at once equipped)
It's a no brainer. And it's sad to see that the poll options are giving it to the Master Chief.
You people need to spend a little more time thinking about this.

Though I do know where your coming from, your comparing them to how they are in the game. Master chief is really nothing like how is in the game. He can do so much more. For example, did you see death battle samus vs boba fett remastered? In the movie boba fett did none of the stuff he did in that episode. Though I can't say for sure who would exactly win...... I clicked Master Chief. I clicked tie. Just because both of them I have loved and played all their games. I would probably say samus. But u know master chief can do so much more.

No I don't. I never read any books in relation to MC or Halo. So I'm going to compare how they performed in the video games I've played. Because with text..... it's not the same as the real thing. And if what your saying is true... How come this power the MC has didn't translate over the the game? Because in the game, Master Chief is slow.

Well then there is no use to argue then. Im sure samus is ten times the bad ass than she is in Metroid Prime.

Right about Samus being weighed down. Assuming they are both at their best equipped. Samus also has the speed power up that let's her sprint through most enemies, weakened walls, and effectively quadruples her speed. Sure she can't turn quickly, but by crouching and quickly jumping she can dash in any direction until she hits a wall. Or if she goes up on a slope, she can just continue running. Samus has the advantage in any situation. Space? She has the gravity suit that makes gravity for her normal, same with under water and submerged in lava. The only real advantage the chief has is his "luck" as cortana put it. Luck can only go so far against someone that is physically more capable than you. Yes the chief survived a lot through out his games. But everything was more or less at his level. With only the few small instances like surviving a fall from a ship, barely escaping the flood as a halo was exploding. Samus however takes no fall damage from any height, and has escaped plenty self destruction facilities in her time. Not to mention facing life forms that make are nearly invincible. (The metroids) capabilities, past experience, the kind of enemies they fought. Samus has fought the harder ones and survived things that the chief can't even begin to handle. Tell me if he was in Samus place in each game. Can he make it through.

Sure the chief doesn't have the same strafe capabilities as Samus does, but he is insanely quick, his reaction time is seconds, if not milliseconds. Samus is also slightly weighed down by her armor, the chief is not. He's about as fast as Samus is without her armor.
-
But the state of the fight is she has as much power as you normally would at the first quarter of a metroid game. Not strong enough to slaughter chief, but not so weak that the chief steamrolls her

Edited by MR E0S: 3/17/2015 1:29:44 AMThe the poll is worthless, because you are purposely trying to mold the scenario in such a way that Samus is on equal footing, and she is not. The only way this poll works is if you keep it simple. We're not going to be like... Master Chief has a broken leg... who would win? This is Samus vs MC Both competitors at the top of their game. Who would win? And it goes to Samus. No contest. The fact that you are trying to weaken Samus, means that you agree.

Ok Samus has the screw attack, chief dodges it. She has power bombs, chief steps out of range. While Samus does have the firepower advantage, you seem to forget that the chief has more combat experience than anyone should, he destroyed 2 halo rings the Ark, and single handedly killed the Didact. Sure it matters who has the biggest stick, but it also matters who's swinging it.

You do realize that you're opinion is extremely bias?

Edited by BWSflash80: 4/20/2015 3:58:28 PMYou keep mentioning Chief's accomplishments, which are fairly irrelevant. She's fought bosses that Chief would be lucky to survive long enough to even escape from, never mind defeat. She could easily have taken down Halo's, and she would have torn the Didact a new asshole. Hell, he'd be an early game boss is her fights. You clearly overestimate Chief's speed in his armor and underestimate Samus's. His reaction time is milliseconds, which is still slower than gunfire. In the games, he is not very fast and his armor does weigh a ton and slows him down. Seamus looks like she's in the summer Olympics the way she can jump around, run, and roll up and over terrain. If she goes in and surrounds him with those ball bombs, Chief would never be fast enough to get out of the way of all of them. If you're going to keep pulling his abilities you reference which are only found in books, not how he performs in games, then Samus gets to come in fully powered to be fair. In that case, Cortana is gone as she currently is, and Samus has a health meter and shield that would make Chief shit his Mjolner armor. As for battle experience: Chief was kidnapped at 6 and slowly begun training from there. Samus starting training with the Chozo, who are far better combatants than humans, at the age of 3. She was already was serving the police/military force by 14. I am honestly a bigger fan of the Master Chief character than Samus. The lore they have built for him is far more interesting overall. But again, this isn't really even a fight until we start reducing Samus's abilities to make it one. End result: Samus for a decisive victory.
