Kendrick Lamar is the savior of hip hop.
Am I the only one sick of hearing rappers talk about all this money, hoes, weed shit? It's hyped, don't get me wrong, and the sound production is usually okay not including the vocals, but it's all the same. All talking about being the king, getting all the money, etc.
Kendrick is actually trying to send a message to you about the way we live, the way we treat each other, how we deal with life's struggles, among other things. While many other rappers have tried to do this, they get buried among all the chris brown, nicki minaj, iggy azeala bullshit.
The last rapper to really have the spotlight that kendrick has now, and was as adamant about sending a message to the world, was Tupac. I believe that Kendrick can do the same thing.
TL;DR It's great. Listen to what he is saying, absorb the message. This album makes you think, and if you don't like that it's not for you.

Based on just the first sentence of your reply to my post, I totally agree with you. Hahaha! He's really the closest thing to Tupac as far as I can see. "Mortal Man", especially the end interview, is just... mind-blowing. It's like a dream convo between a master and his student. As for the mainstream hip-hop shit, I like that kinda stuff every once in a while 'cause it's obviously catchy and has some value to them, but people are really missing out on some good shit like this, especially from other artists like Kendrick, such as J. Cole, Logic, Big K.R.I.T., etc.
