Do you realize that impact is the amount of damage and that the 300 and 331 are indicators of what level of enemy the weapon does 100% damage to (level 30 and 33, respectively)? It sounds like you want more than 331 for exotics (please tell me if I misunderstand) but what that would mean is that the weapons would just be for enemies of levels that aren't in the game right now. A 300 weapon and a 331 weapon with the same impact are supposed to do the same damage to a given enemy out side of the high end enemies in the Crouton raid. The re-balancing has, no doubt, messed up some of the impact stuff, but on day one it was impact and player level that determined damage done by a given weapon. edit: I agree that the exotics should be more 'exotic' than legendary weapons, but given how bungie made their game that would have to come from perks.

  • Oh and as for the perks, yea I could see that's what they tried to do, but unfortunately some of the perks don't overcome the lack of power in the gun itself, i.e. Bad Juju (even after the buff) and I'm still of the opinion that TLW (my fav weapon) needs this . But doing it with attack would stop any imbalance in PvP, kinda what I'm aiming for. (No pun intended, but I left it like this so I guess now it is intended)

  • I'm glad you pointed this out for clarification. You misunderstood me a little, but you definitely understand the system. Yes I am aware of the role attack vs impact plays, and you are correct that this would have to get addressed, but also remember that in the grand scheme, all the numbers are arbitrary anyway. What's most important are ratios, and they can change that. For House of Wolves, they could have legendaries do 100% and exotics do 110% to highest level enemies or have legendaries do 90% and exotics only able to do 100% and neither would be a boost or a buff in the game overall as long as the new numbers are balanced with time to kill and damage over time to the new enemies. All damage to enemies of the Dark Below and below would naturally remain the same. It would only be a buff to the exotics when compared to legendaries. No one would complain because all guns will be stronger, with only exotics being the strongest. All we would know is that exotics do more damage to the max level enemies at that time. That's my line of though, Feel free to criticize further. Only makes us more refined thinkers.
