Any Lvl 29+ Non-Raiders?

I'm curious to see if there are a significant number of players who have never attempted a raid before, despite being the necessary level. So... if you've hit level 29 or above, comment here with your current level, when you started playing, and why you haven't tried raiding (yet?) :3 Edit: There are a bunch of awesome people who have commented in this thread that they're willing to give unseasoned raiders a hand. If you're considering giving raids a try, why not start by reaching out to one of these players? Just please remember, the biggest requirement in learning how to raid is not your equipment, not your level... it's courtesy, honesty, and an ability to listen more than you talk. Happy raiding, Guardians!

  • I share my account with my sons. Started as a parent making Destiny was ok for them. No blood no swearing from the game so it's ok. However I cannot believe the number of little kid jerks playing this game. I have to sit there with my youngest because of this. My older plays with the neighbor and has done Raids successfully often. I have not been able to get with a decent group to complete one. Ask the wrong question and get some little snot kid swearing at you. So I have tried but not completed one. I have sent the kid through with my charter, don't think he's done one start to finish with my warlock yet. PS3, w headset and I think good enough gear. Friday 8 30 CST.

  • 31 Titan here. Tried doing vog a couple of times with some helpful people it's just too long and couldn't play for that long especially when we had more than one raid noob. Just when I was starting to get an understanding of the concept had to go. Hard to split time with family

  • Last week was really odd. I ran into a entire group of 30+ who had never even attempted VoG. They had done Crota a couple times but that was it. It was fun helping them through. If anyone wants help raiding I'm usually free most nights after 9 p.m. EST. I'm on xbox one and my gt is calamity magnum. In about 5,000 more glimmer I will be level 32. I have about 40 or 50 raid completions and I main Warlock. I can either be a Nova Bomb generator (Bad Juju+OM) or a Gernade happy 100% disapline Sunsinger. Feel free to hit me up.

  • Im on Xbox One. +4 GMT. Titan defender 31. Warlock 30 sunsinger (no self res). Hunter 30 gunslinger (im not very good with Hunter). I've never done raid because only few ppl offered to help and they are either on different console or different time zone. I'd appreciate help because I really want to raid. I don't play with children (mentality not age) and as soon as I hear more than 3 F words in one minute, I'll stop playing. (i don't care if u think this is funny and I don't care if I'm a noob. Enjoy)

      • I reached 31 without raiding. Had full faction gear and one exotic. I didn't have friends to raid with and I also had no clue what to do so I felt like I was going to hold the team back so I just never attempted. I came across the forums after the DLC and found the forums which is why I play now.

      • I just hit lvl 29 with my hunter and have been itching to complete a raid for a while now, and I haven't been able to for two reasons: Time. I'm an almost fresh out of uni working adult with responsibilities, and I struggle with that fact constantly xD So besides weekends, I'd have no time to raid. And Numbers. I just can't get a fire team together to help little nooby me. So yeah, anyone willing to help a girl out, feel free to add me. :3 Gt: IndigoRiot. I'm on 360 and have a mic and dlc

      • I have one character, level 30, have never raided. Been playing Destiny almost exclusively since day one, but really only get a few hours a week to game at all. Whenever I play, it is usually just 15-30 minutes at a time, so I don't feel like I can commit to a raid.

        • I've been playing since November, 31 hunter, 30 warlock, 30 titan, 423 total hours, and no raids at all (but I do have a Gally). Really, I haven't raided because I haven't actively sought out a group to raid with, even though everyone in my clan is awesome and very accommodating when it comes to helping out. Sometimes I'm on for short periods of time or a time when not many are running raids so I don't want to be a bother. However, if you're looking for someone Friday afternoons or Saturday mornings/afternoons (eastern time zone), I'm your man.

        • Congrats, you bought your way to 31. GG no re. I'd rather see a level 30 with full VoG gear than a 31 who just grinded away. Plus VoG gear looks sweet.

          • I have one of each toon and they are all 31. My titan is closest to 32 and will be an IB 32. I haven't raided because I want to be available to my family if I need to step away from the game. I don't want to not be able to commit to doing my part and finishing what I start. I would like to try them and have hit some CP's etc and it's been fun. I raided in WOW and the key for use was studying the fight from other successful groups. I've already looked at the raids in destiny from other groups tactics. I know quite well how to listen and do what brings the team success.

          • Level 31 Gunslinger. I have been in the VoG a whole five times. Never done the Crota Raid. There is something about the endgame that really brings out the worst in people you usually get along with. In the choice between keep my friends or raid every week, I pick keep my friends.

I'm a level 29 warlock. I'm familiar with raiding systems due to other mmorpgs. I have completed 20+ man raids and know the importance of the placement of people, downing certain npc's befoe bosses and essentials different classes bring to a fight. The only flaw I have is that I do not know the fights for the raids in destiny. I'm familiar with people not letting new comers in and it's understandable but frustrating at the same time. I need someone with experience to show me the fights. I learn quick, have good teamwork and communication skills. I never give up until a raid or objective is complete. So the worry of a missing man does not pertain to me. If someone could message me (on Xbox one) I'll be more than happy to learn the raids. I thank you for your time if you read this.

            • Been playing since day one and I have a 30, 28, & 26 and apart from glitching into the vault and trying to solo it I haven't done the raids, but I'm probably going to try to find a group later today since that planet destiny lfg finder thing has really made finding groups a lot easier for me.

            • Never tried raiding apart from going to try and find the first Crota chest solo. Which was too late anyway since it no longer yields exotics after the update. Reason is I don't have the time to play with a fireteam, I'm just a casual

I play crucible a lot, and meet many players 29+ who have never raided. I typically invite them to raids, help them level, and eventually get them geared for hard raids. I prefer heavy crucible players on my fireteam, they are really good at going with the flow, and listening to advice. Adaptability is key in raids!
