I'm curious to see if there are a significant number of players who have never attempted a raid before, despite being the necessary level.
So... if you've hit level 29 or above, comment here with your current level, when you started playing, and why you haven't tried raiding (yet?) :3
Edit: There are a bunch of awesome people who have commented in this thread that they're willing to give unseasoned raiders a hand. If you're considering giving raids a try, why not start by reaching out to one of these players? Just please remember, the biggest requirement in learning how to raid is not your equipment, not your level... it's courtesy, honesty, and an ability to listen more than you talk.
Happy raiding, Guardians!

1 ReplyEdited by Seraph12000: 3/11/2015 7:15:06 PMHere. I have entered Crota's End solo on PS4 with my Warlock and Titan but that was only to open up the first chest. I don't actually take part in the Raids at all. My Warlock ( on PS4 ) is Lv.31 and she is my only character over Lv.29. Have no interest in Raiding. I don't like the way they are set up or the requirements for them. Will probably never ever Raid.

4 RepliesEdited by Tedward2point0: 3/11/2015 7:02:57 PMMe...No one wants to raid with me...I don't know why though...people say I have to be 32 to do Crota normal so I just don't raid. Edit- I'm on the 360... That's probably why
-
I've attempted raids, but don't try anymore. I've got a 1 yr old running around that I'm usually taking care of while I play. I don't want my multitasking to burden a group. I also don't use a mic, nobody wants to hear a baby yelling lol.
-
I have 3x31's and cannot be bothered with any single event that takes more than 30mins and believe me with me on your team it will take more than 30mins to do the raid. I just have a short attention span and I HATE RNG, it's so pointless - hence all I do is get vanguard and crucible mark to buy stuff and begrudgingly do weeklys for coins to spend with Xur for exotics.

I'm a 31 defender titan and I've completed one raid. I got chatterwhite though, so I'm not super mad
-
Just to let you guys know. There are a lot of patient raiders out there willing to show you guys the ropes. All I'd say is start with normal mode even if a higher level as it's more about knowing the raid and various roles that is needed to tackle hard. I really enjoy taking noob raiders through, lamenting at them never being able to experience the templar cheese.

3 RepliesI tried vault of glass once but we wiped like 4 times (I had no clue what we were doing and I don't have a mic) and I tried Crota's End once by myself, just to mess around, I lasted about 2 minutes. Just with my hunter though. I don't play my warlock since I finished the subclass and got that trophy.

8 RepliesI have a 31 Warlock, Hunter and Titan. I generally play warlock or hunter but have never tried any of the raids. The only reason is lack of friends that play. There are only 3 of us, so we do nightfalls etc. We are all mature (40 or so!) We were talking last night again about looking online to try out the raids.... PS4.

I play mainly at night after kids go to bed and let me have a turn. 3 lvl 32's one each class run with an older group and we do crota a few times each week. Anyone on PS4 that wants to raid, has a mic and wants to have a few good laughs add me, I am always happy to help.

14 RepliesEdited by Always Feral: 3/11/2015 6:25:39 PMI'm level 32, and I've only completed one raid. I like the idea of what they're supposed to be, but I don't have a solid group to raid with and trying to get it done with randoms is often a good way to becoming acquainted with some of the most obnoxious pieces of human-shaped chunks of shit that I've ever met. I cherry-pick raids for what I want, and then I leave and go back to PvP. I have a couple of friends who I will run through the beginning parts of CE for, or help with VoG from time to time if they're stuck on a section, but that's only to help them get gear to reach a higher level. Raids are marred by the lack of matchmaking for people who don't ever have a full crew and end up in an endless cycle of LFGs and getting stuck with assholes. (I shouldn't have to go out of my way to group up with retarded jackasses. That should be an in-game feature.) I spend most of my time in the Crucible. I prefer murdering this game's toxic community over trying to navigate a raid with them.

1 ReplyBump to find this later. I've done sections. Only made a beginning to end attempt on Crota's End one time. Got to Crota and communication broke down rather rapidly. We failed miserably. After several attempts, I knew it wasn't going to get better so I bowed (sp?) out as gracefully as I could. Would love to find a good crew (even if it's 1 seasoned leader and 5 noob's) to run both raids with.

I'm a lvl 31 Hunter and have done CE normal once and the vault of glass 2 or 3 times but only got as far as the Templar.

1 ReplyI'm an older gamer (48), and just started the game a couple months ago and have taken my time leveling up my characters, farming materials and looking for decent weapons (and leveling those up.) I've also been doing steadily harder content - progressing through the story, then The Dark Below and the different strikes up to ROC's, and just did my first Nightfall last week. I generally play solo outside of when the game sets up matchmaking and don't use a mic, but I guess I'm willing to in a raid since communication seems pretty critical. I'm at 31 on my main now (hunter). I'm feeling ready to do some raids now, and I follow some groups which put together some raid teams so just waiting for the right time to reach out and set it up.

My warlock is lvl29 and I've only done 1 checkpoint in crota and got the boots

I am guessing for the majority of people it comes down to the time aspect and being intimidated by them being a first time raider. By now most people have read or watched videos on VoG or CE and have an idea what to do, it is just hard for them to make the leap to try it. I didn't raid until CE came out and it was mainly because I didn't want to be that clueless first timer and feel like I was causing the run to fail. Finally I just posted for a group and I am glad I did, the raids are fun especially when paired with the right people. Yeah you get pushy and bossy members but the majority of players are cool and helpful. I see posts about patrols and strikes being fun and they are, but the raids add a new dimension and running them once a week for loot is what makes them unique. If you were like me and not sure, post on here or DestinyLFG under a normal mode raid about it being your first run and someone will pick you up and explain things.

Level 30 hunter with no raids. I just suck that's why
