Or console gamers are smart enough to know PC gaming will result in expensive upgrades to their PC almost every year and get the just as good performing console instead.

lol hillarious I have a gtx 680 and a 2700k intel running at 4.4 Ghz Hardware is so far ahead of software that i wont have to upgrade anything, especially not my GPU, for at least 3 years.
-
Lolno. Not with a new generation coming out.

Itt people that still don't get it. Right now a gtx 560 can still run all the games on the market. I wont need to upgrade because even though 3 years from now there will probably be the 800 series. my 680 will still run ever game on the market. Software won't catch up to today's hardware for years.

You're really overestimating your hardware. Whenever a new console comes out, there's a massive jump in requirements & after about 1-2 years, practically every single card on the market pre-console is obselete if you want a proper experience. inb4 but my gtx680 cost me $500; so did some shitty 32mb graphics card when the Xbox 360 came out.

Edited by DocSmurf: 1/13/2013 11:19:25 PMYour grossly underestimating the hardware and seriously overestimating the change in graphics demand. I'm guna try to explain this to you one last time. Under a DirectX 11 heaven benchmark at full Settings under high AA and Extreame Tesselation I only use 60 percent of my Vram. And that's running under ridiculous setting no gaming company would ever put out at default because no one but enthusiast could play it. I will not have to upgrade my GPU for atleast 3 to 4 years simply because graphics in videogames isn't going to jump any more than it already has for sake of sales potential and cost effectiveness

You don't need to upgrade every year.

And so it begins. . .
