Since I own every console from this generation I'm looking into building a PC and I'm wondering if $1,000 will be good for a first build? Mind you this is going to be my first time building a PC.

Damn. You might be able to send less unless you were thinking about putting in some high class solid state hard drives and SLI some good graphics cards and get a top of the line Mobo. Have fun man. Very jealous.

You can get a really playable one for $500 but I'd say $400 is alright.

4 RepliesIt depends, but price is related to quality. For a $1000 you'll can get something that can run most games at good quality, but you should save and spend around 1.7 k

I built one for $820 a week ago, works well. At your budget, I suggest an AMD R9 290, i5 4460, Asus Z97 motherboard, and 8GB of RAM. Obviously use pcpartpicker.com to make sure these all work together well, and to choose a case.
