The app isn't the issue for me, it's using the mobile vault that starts up the weasel plaque.
What I found that helped is unplugging the power brick and plugging it back in after a few seconds. This issue for me was on Xbox One using the Destiny Companion app on ios 8. Worth a shot if you haven't found a solution and want to try this out.

Yes i am using the app now but when the mobile vault is used it crashes. But happy to say it will be fixed soon but at moment use a pc and bungie.net does not crash

Did bungie approach the issue or discuss it? That would be great if they could resolve this very quickly

Great, thanks for your input! I've noticed the same thing, when I try and grab something from my mobile vault I usually end up with a weasel error. As soon as I closed my app and stopped swapping items my connection was fine.
