Edit: Hey, idiot, before you comment that I messed up the symbol, guess what, about 30 other people have told me. You can't edit poll options once a thread has been created.
Well folks, I think we can all say we have our own discretions on what we do and do not like on these forums, but it is my contention that the main thing destroying the once high quality discussions held here is the constant use of this "Lenny" face made out of ACII characters. (I apologize in advance, but here it is if you live under a rock: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)) Now, while this is supposedly a "humorous" addition to discussion, the users of it are really not humorous at all, and are simply compensating for there inability to humor people.
As many of you know, there is a word filter on this site, that can be changed depending on what the web team feels is justifiably explicit for these forums, in order to maintain an inviting atmosphere. They have also used the world filter for their own spot of humor (ex: -godwinslaw!-).
While "Lenny" isn't necessarily explicit, however, I still find it unneeded, and atrocious. It degrades the quality of conversations, and sets the bar pretty low for what people expect to be "humorous". It's an "inside joke" for the interwebs, and frankly is the most unappealing quality of this website. Taking it out of use with either -blam!-, or possibly another spot of humor by the web team, is the only way we can begin to improve this place.
Who's with me?
Edit: It's funny to see which members oppose this. Just as expected.
Edit: If you are confused, the poll option is suppose to read "I am less than 14 years old."
