I was rail hopping in the tower last night with my friends whilst having general conversations and the realisation came to me that we're so far from the next content expansion. It doesn't help that many players such as myself have nothing left to play for and aren't so eager to be on destiny anymore. So here's something I spent some time thinking about, [b]I'd like your opinion on this guys.[/b] [b]A hoard/survival mode for a fireteam of 6 that can be found with matchmaking in game or with your friends.[/b] This is not like the Dinklebot defence sequences you do in the story mode. I'm talking HUNDREDS of enemies. [b]It could take place on a cordoned off area on existing patrol locations[/b] to save development time, just lump in some nicely placed space objects for aesthetics and new dimensions. Minimum entry level 20 but cap both damage given and taken and here's why: [b]You don't use your own weapons[/b]. You have a selection of weapons you choose from a pool of uncommon weapons at the start. At the end of each wave a warsat kind of thingy drops like a care package and provides a choice of random new weapons to use in the next wave. You can also get random weapon drops from enemies you kill. You face mini bosses like archon priests, prime servitors, gatelords and oversized ogres along the way and conclude with a megaboss at the end. I'm talking something that'll give final fantasy boss fights a run for their money. [b][As your standing/rank increases in this mode you unlock the ability to receive and use weapons of increasing rarity tiers from care package and enemy kill drops.[/b] No exotics though. Be a man. Also, when you hit ranks of high standing through your hard endeavours, you can purchase special class items, shaders, and cool new weapons from a new vendor in the tower that can be used in this mode. Going through waves without dying will also increase the multiplier for the rank and currency. [b]No supers.[/b] Yep. This mode will put your gunplay to the test. But supers will be reactivated to aid in the boss fights. [b]Different dimensions of combat.[/b] Stuff like turrets will be in convenient locations. And large powerful melee weapons like a gravity hammer from halo can be used to make things more fun. [b]Checkpoint every several waves [/b] These serve as points of return if a player wishes to leave and is where a team will restart from if everyone dies (revives are enabled after a 30 second countdown so no wiping because of one guardian don't worry). [b]Chances of exotics rewards from killing the megabosses.[/b] Megabosses take a stupid amount of waves to reach but will reward you with a chance of rolling an exotic number like Aetheon and Crota. Or you might just get shards/energies (lol). So I guess that's all the main bits covered really, what do you guys think? I don't know if this is possible for Bungie to bring out in the period of time we have until HoW but it'll be a great mode to have even if it does take time to program.
