Character Base Level

Keep levelling up based on armour equipped

Level up based on time spent actually playing the game and experience gained

Just a quick poll, my personal opinion is that levelling up my character based on what armour I have equipped is rediculous as surely levelling up a character should be based solely on time spent playing the game and therefore experience gained and during this journey yes you may find better loot that would have level restrictions on it based on its stats but to have the levelling system the way it is is completely broken, a perfect example would be that I had lots of stuff sitting in my vault that I'd got while playing as my hunter now some of this gear was for warlock and titan however required a min level of 20, now as soon as my warlock and titan got to 20 I was able to equip them with said gear and immediately they were pushed up to level 26/27 and that required zero effort playing as those actual characters also what this breeds which I cannot stand is people playing through strike lists purely just to try and get to the end as fast as humanly possible skipping past as much of the strike as they can without hardly resorting to any combat just so they can hopefully get new rewards at the end, to me that defeats the purpose of even switching the game on in the first place, you could bet your life that if levelling up your character was based on kills/experience gained those particular group of people would be hunting down every enemy they could see instead of skipping by them, having them change this system would remove the problem of always having useless gear as soon as the latest expansion come out because the RNG loot table could hold any and every piece of armour of weapons they ever wanted to have in the game and simply put level restrictions on them, I know this isn't an RPG but it certainly needs a better system than what currently in place and a classic RPG levelling and armour/weapons systems would work just fine for this game. Anyway that's my views, I'd like to know how the rest of the community feel about this.
