The amount of problems related to lag in the Raids is ridiculous. My team was trying to finish off the Crota fight on Friday. Our first run we got Crota to enrage on the third sword. So we all line up for the final rocket volley and pump 5 or 6 rockets into him. Nothing. His shield doesn't even move. So we fire a few more. Nothing. The oversoul kills us and just as the screen fades to black, Crota kneels. Thanks Bungie.
But we were encouraged since we got him to enrage on the first run without any glitches to that point so we pressed on. Two and a half hours later we were still banging our heads against Crota's shield. Most of the wipes were due to some sort of glitch, usually lag-related. Three times we had Crota enraged and got his shield to drop only to have the sword disappear from the sword-bearer's hands right before the killing blow could land. No way were we over the 30 second time limit with the sword, it just up and decided to leave early. Throw in a bunch of instances where the sword disappeared, or couldn't be picked up, or the Swordbearer decides to hide under one of the Boomer towers, or Crota rotates early, etc, etc, etc. We finally gave up as the frustration level had gotten too high.
As with most games they publish, Activision refuses to shell out for dedicated servers and Destiny is forced to rely on peer to peer communication. This is why we see lag problems in the raid but rarely any other time. How often do you see teleporting enemies in the Nightfall? With only three players its not so bad but you get to six consoles all trying to communicate with each other and with the server and suddenly the lag becomes crippling. I know it will never happen but I am hoping beyond hope that Destiny 2 goes with a pure server-client architecture rather than this stupid hybrid P2P/server-client thing they are doing now. It really ruins the enjoyment of what is supposed to be the best content in the game. I don't find it too bad in the VoG but once I get all the weapons from CE and enough energies to max them out I will never set foot in that buggy raid ever again.

Well, apparently the game decided to make it up to me tonight. We tried the Crota checkpoint again and we smoothly sailed through it on the first try. And I got the Gjallarhorn from Crota! So we decided to run through the entire raid again with our third characters. Once again everything went smoothly and we killed Crota on the first run. This time I got the Crux and was able to upgrade one of my Eidolon Allys to the Necrochasm. If only it was this bug-free (and generous) every time!

Same thing happens to me yesterday. Also Corta had more health than usual. Did 3 swords and had one with 4 swings and the rest were 3. He enrages on the third sword as planned and we down him. I hit him three times and he didn't die. I can't beat him due to these types of glitches.
