In my opinion, here's what's different: PS4 has better hardware, lousier software; XB1 has better software, lousier hardware; Both consoles are great, I've played both and my girlfriend got me an Xb1 Christmas. My Xbox has no Kinect and it functions fine. Go ahead and get one, the exclusive games for it are pretty fun and the other games that aren't exclusive look and play just fine. The Party system is bugged and wonky but overall it's a good console. And since you have a PS4 you get the best of both worlds.
