Halo 3 - Matchmaking, banned? why???
Hello,
Sorry for my english I'm not american...
My xbox 360 is banned and I can't play online...
When I want start a game, I can read "Your xbox 360 is banned".
I never cheat, I won my level legit, and now I'm banned!!! Why??? I pay 60€/year to play halo3 and now I'm banned...
Someone can help me :s??

is it a preowned console as a 360 is banned for life no matter what so if a guy before you got banned and sold it, then it would be banned for you. also you do not get banned for poor connection as said in bungie's banhammer rules

If you're banned from all of Xbox Live, then you've obviously done something and they will be able to tell you. If you're banned from Halo 3 matchmaking it is almost certain that you have an unstable connection that is causing others to lag and thusly effecting everyone's enjoyment of the game.

Microsoft phoned me today to say that I had do something like cheat! I never cheat, it's your system who has a fail, why you don't do something for a player who paid 60€ + 60€ for the XBL, I'm maybe European, not American, but I never cheat. I have an European connection (8mb) so why I can't play, 75% of the France has the same connection!!! I'm sure that a lot of people have my problem!!! You have to help me!

I'm agree with you... I really like halo 3, if I have the Xbox live it's because I like play Halo 3 online. I pay to play your game, you have a fail in your system, this fail ban me, a user who never cheat... You have to do something...

What really matters is not who got banned and for what. What matters is whether a player has been informed of why and for how long the ban is in effect. Bungie's wacky algorithm has proved itself to be far from perfect and it is becoming increasingly more obvious. Shutting down threads and ignoring the issue will only exponentially add to an already established reputation problem. Bungie, you have developed a great game, but when you deal with a paid subscription service - it is best to set the jokes aside.

It's strange, because I never met this problem in halo 2 BTB, and I had a very high level... Damned, 7-14 days... French holidays will start tomorrow :s...

At any given time, there are going to be more Americans playing halo 3 than anyone else. By that logic, people in texas should only play people in texas, because of a closer and therefore more reliable connection. There is no way to impliment MM scenario like that. Only if we had a server list would that apply... but then that would negate the entire idea of match making wouldn't it?

It's because you are in france. You are more than likely playing a lot of american players, oui? This is going to cause your connection to lag and then cause a banning. Do a search on connection bannings and look for "acronos's" explination... ...c'est la vie.

I just checked your game history, and there are an awful lot of DNFs. That tells me it may be your connection, but only you can say for certain.

I too have this problem as I am currently banned. And I can say you were banned becasue you either had a bad connection over an extended period of time, or you played with a friend that had a bad connection. You see I had played two ranked BTB games with a friend and he had been lagging terribly for a few hours before as we were chatting. His connection seems to get better in the customs we played so we played BTB. I got off, and the next day I was banned. But the ban is not permanent, only 7-14 days maximum. I am not banned from Xbox Live, because I can play CoD4 and Rock Band online.

60 Euro? that seems pretty steep. Its possible bungie's autobanhammer saw a lot of bad connections in you're games because your in europe, but its more likely you're doing something shady... [Edited on 02.07.2008 8:35 AM PST]
