Legacy of the Warlord

[Chapter One] Since time immortal many have striven to rise above to become pillars of a race. Sangheili have for generations rose to meet the challenges of the day. Some have come far from the rank and file of ordinary beings to become something truly great. This can be true. Yet this is not the norm. Each face great events that shaped them in some way. Leaders always need those who are willing yet, can control them in some way. Even the greatest of Hero's must face this one of many truth's. Powers that be have many ways of ending such a being if they see fit. Covenant have many mechanisms in place to keep those in line. Adherence to a Religion based on a dead race of advanced beings. Punishment for those who disobey. Those who turn away from this are Heretics. Forever banished or exiled from that races home world. Nomads to wander space. Yet hidden in between the political zealots religion are those who serve. They serve to collect information. Some serve as Eliminators who dispatch rivals or sabotage enemy's plans. I serve in this shadow area. Unlike others i did not serve the Prophets. Whom i served was important. Yet some whisper about me. About who i served. I say let them whisper. His legacy will carry beyond the Ninth Age of Reclamation. [Edited on 09.30.2012 5:00 PM PDT]

 • Elites are Elites. The War-masters of the Covenant and the source of major successes and the relative backbone/core of the Covenant Hierarchy, Prophets are just there to 'keep it all together' in a sense (but that's irrelevant) They are powerful warriors on par with the Spartans. As for a Spartan being an Elite... that's impossible, otherwise they wouldn't be killing each other.

 • Authors Comment:Like and is are very different in context. Elites were written to be honorable with a Knight/Samurai mix. Written by human writers/Developed by human gamers to be an enemy. Each of us sees this in each Covenant race. If i were to take a gander it would be like some Fantasy races in space. Brutes are Orcs while Grunts seem to be like goblins. Elites feel like a Spartains(old0 Mixed with Samurai and Knights. So on so forth. Sangheili are a separate race. Yet hold the ideals. So is a green apple not the same as a red apple. Different taste sure but it is an apple. HALO Evolution showed a very japanese like environment. But it is open to intervention. So its a yes/no. Not being human i doubt they can be compared but they have traits that are close. We all recognize those traits. Honor, Faith and Belief. They sound like a Paladin or a Knight even a Samurai. Any ways i did not create them. So its an opinion. Elites are Very interesting. They do show human like behavior. But to close ones mind completely shows on your part no real flexibility. Pick up a history book sometime many of todays movies or books even games use composites or history of another people culture or race from Anchient times. or be more spesific in the comment. Also Elites are not Jedi. Thank you for commenting.
Posted by: TheRealObsidian
Posted by: commander tempu
Posted by: Wolverfrog
youngling
... why would you willingly quote the Star Wars prequels? WHY? Other than that abhorrence, not bad; a decent starting point. Try and stick at it, you'll improve. Don't just ditch it because people aren't reading - that shouldn't be why you're writing. I'd try and make your writing feel a little more alive. At the risk of breaking out a cliche, 'show, don't tell.' Good luck anyway. Try and call them 'children' next time.
Authors Note:Not the same context. Youngling sounds more original. No i did not really rip off Star Wars. Children seems forced on such a race. Youngling: Child or youngster who has not reached a mature age. That i will not change. Elites are very Samurai like. Thus giving them a more violent outlook. It does not relate to Star Wars. They are much different from a Temple full of force wielding children. Who are rare in a Universe full of billions of people races or cultures. Thank you for the comment but i feel its more reader Assosation with words.
A Samurai does not compare to a Sangheili.
[Edited on 11.09.2012 5:23 AM PST]

 • Authors Note: It is finished. I hope it was a good story that was informative. Elites are a veary interesting race. If i made any mistakes I aplogise. Giveing them Depth was a challange to say the least. I tried to shadow events that happened but did not want to interact with the Halo Storyline that had been written before. Thank you for reading i hope you enjoy it.

 • [2553 Atlantis Colony, Divine Fire in orbit] Several humans greeted Zervros when he arrived in his drop ship. It was not what he had expected now inheriting the Warlords duties. Drelos accompanied him who was not only an informant but friend of Warlord Klones. As his ship touched down in the human camp Zevros exited with Drelos who fallowed close behind into the human camp. It was a small scout team with a few guards but he was not here for the humans. One human silently greeted them then proceed to lead them into the jungle to where a battle had taken place some time ago. This human looked to be a soldier in his armor carrying a human Assault Rifle. Primitive by Covenant standards. Yet Zervros fallowed him. Zervros Knew this place it was the human Naval Base they had attacked all those years ago. The human spoke showing them the spot where a battle had taken place. Items were scattered each not touched. Bodies were removed to be buried. " From what we can tell the battle took place here. Then moved into that building. Brutes were trying to get down that shaft. Our ODST's and Some Kick Ass Elites stopped them." Soldier lead them thirty feet to the building he spoke about entering. Nodding to the damage." Your Leader gave his life here to stop them. " The room had damage from plasma blasts, Bullets and Explosives." Zervros Knelt at the Energy Sword." That was his blade. We have not touched this room to honor the sacrifices made by both sides. Helmets rested where the ODST's fell. Drelos peered inside as well. Zervros stood up looking over at the human." Thank you. We shall put a marker here to-" A holo-locket lay on the ground. Zervros bent down to touch it. A female Sangheili said in a plesent tone." Klones i love you." Zervros left it in the same spot saying good bye to a trusted friend, Soldier and Honored Hero."-Dedicate this to every one who fell here. Had the Brutes as you call them Succeeded we would be swimming in Flood." Human soldier said nothing turning around to escort them back to the Landing Zone. Zervros fallowed with a quiet Drelos trailing behind. Drelos knew Redemption was a high price but one that was made with out hesitation. Saying his good byes the Unggoy caught up with the other two. The sun set over the waves reflecting its glow in the water. The End [Edited on 11.08.2012 3:54 PM PST]

 • Chapter:4 [Divine Fire, Captains Quarters. Orbiting above Atlantis] Klones with Conciliar Var'ush stood near the General's sleeping pod. Zervros was attending to the General's needs. The General was injured during the battle around High Charity. His age with the stress on his body was not good for the Elder. They were successful in not only defeating Prophet led ships but were able to stop flood from leaving High Charity by leaving in Docked ships they were able to control. The Arbiter had suggested an alliance with the Humans so he was meeting with them. Arbiter had appointed a Ship master to lead forces against Zealots who belive in the "Great Journey." They were directed to head to the former human planet of Harvest. Humans would meet them on planet. He knew the humans were desperate but for an alliance to work trust must be show by both sides. He would find out what was going on here but for now his concern was for the General.Klones had did allot of thinking. About the future. Looking at his Mentor who lay on his deathbed it all seemed far away. " Warlord the Ship master has asked me on a suggestion from the Arbiter to assist the humans." The General said weakly." You will go in my place. I have been injured for several days now. My time is up. I shall join our ancestors soon." Every one looked sullen no one spoke." Do not morn my passing. I have lived a full life. Warlord i want you to take command of this ship. Keep our people safe. Do what you must." " Take care of each other. Know that our spirit cannot be broken. The Gods have chosen a new path for us. Yet i must confess i never wanted to burn those worlds. I see now that i was a tool to be used. Never again shall our people suffer so blindly." Zervros moved over to the General's Side." Sir i ask you save your strength. You might recover." The General relaxed now listening to the wise advice." I know when my time is up. It does not matter now." Klones spoke as he always has to the General." Sir i am at this time solidifying our supply lines. I have contacted those in the Shadow Guard to meet with me. Some i do not know if they will join or fallow the Prophets." Concern for the General showed in his voice but he kept a cool exterior. The General nodded his head." Good." Var'rush spoke" A few besides my self will gather soon to discuss our involvement in helping our war effort. If we can pry control from the Prophets grasp we might be able to gain traction with the other Covenant Races. Except the Brutes." " I will work with the Warlord and Others to see that my knowledge is put to good use. That our people are able to stop this madness. The Great Journey is a lie one i shall destroy." Klones put a hand on Var'rush shoulder who simply nodded." Rest well General." Var'rush fallowed Klones out the door falling silent. Var'rush spoke to Klones who was about to walk off but turned at the others voice to listen. " I feel guilty Warlord. We were all deceived by Truths words. Promises of the Great Journey for years were a tool to keep us in line. One day i hope they choke on those lies." Var'rush looked sadly at the ground. Klones shook his head knowing the feeling." We lie to protect others at times. Some use those lies to control others. We were at war once with them. They have lost sight of things. Yet i cannot help but know that our gods were not who we think they are. I have done some research with some of the Battle net data you gave me from High Charity." " These Forerunners were quite advanced. Yet our Covenant uses this salvaged technology. It is quite intersting that we formed a Religion around all of this. Now it seems we have learned a hard lesson. Being fools thinking that there were no repercussions to this technology. Also that they were any better than we are." " We worshiped gods who are long dead. It was another tool to control us. I seen through some of the Web of lies but i never imagined it was so deep. It feels like darkness is trying to squeeze the last of the light away. " Var'rush nodded in agreement." Yes i feel the same. Many ask me question that i do not have answers to at this time. Perhaps we can find those answers. The Light will burn away the darkness as it has since time began. I am also glad it helped you. I was unable to save more records." Klones turned around speaking." You saved what you could. I need to get read for the mission with the humans. You man accompany me if you wish." Var'rush shook his head no. " I will stay up here unless you really need me. Now i must see if i can rally more support." Each left The General's door heading off to do important tasks. [Edited on 11.06.2012 7:10 PM PST]

 • [High Charity, Detention Center Six.] He was being held with others who were placed in when he heard about how the Jilaralhane had been put in charge of things when Regret was killed. Sangheili were not apart of the military apparatus any more. They held a few former Sangheili councillors. Klones was still here for some reason. Others were in cells as well. They were half full. Klones looked around once again with disinterest. In the cell next to him was a former Councillor named Vor'ush. They spoke some when he arrived but until now he was silent. " Klones soon we will be free." Vor'ush spoke low so the Brute jailers would not hear. " Be ready when help arrives. I will explain later." Klones did not say a word but softly knocked on the cell wall. Squad of Sangheili warriors battled the brutes who were dead before they knew what had happened. Energy Blasts killed the jailers who were rushed very fast with Plasma Rifles and Plasma grenades. Brutes tried to fight there way out only killing one of the seven attackers. The squad shut down the cells energy fields. Warlord Klones felt elation at that he was finally free. " Arm yourselves brothers. We have been betrayed." The leader said of the improve squad. Every one picked up a Weapon. This was a matter of survival. Warlord Klones knew where he needed to be. " I know the Divine Fireis still docked. What is the situation with the fleet.?" Councilor Vor'rush spoke interrupting." It wont matter if we do not get off High Charity. We can figure it out later." Klones picked up a Plasma Rifle from a dead Brute." We need more weapons then we make for the docked ship. That console will tell us more." Klones opened the consoles interface. In moments he was able to hack High Charities battle net. It displayed the information he needed. Even a map his armor downloaded. Then he got the status to the ship. " We have an armory not far away." Klones nodded to the other door. "Divine Fire is in the docks locked down. We will have to disable the docking clamps before we can board. Armory is this way." Klones headed out the door looking both ways. He could hear voices ahead. Brute Voices. " I do not see anything do you ?" One guard turned to the other brute guard looking forward." No i do not..You. Go find out-." Brute guard was speaking to an Unggoy. Klones crept up on the unaware guards. A few of his brothers fallowed behind him. He used Active Cloak to ensure he had the element of surprise. Klones with his armed brethren opened fire on the two brutes. who never got to finish there sentence The Unggoy fired back then were cut down as well. Four of them fell to the plasma fire. Armory door was open as they went inside to check it then arms were passed to all those who were unarmed. Plasma Grenades were handed out as well. There were about twenty of them each ready to get off high Charity. "We get to the lifts then head down to the-"Klones checked his map again."-Lets get down to the docks." Warlord Klones lead them to the lifts. Councilor Var'ush joined him in the lift with a few others." I cannot belive this would happen but, never believed we would be betrayed." Warlord Klones simply shook his head. It was a shock but he had been preparing for this just he was not prepared for it to happen now. As Klones stepped off the lift he took position behind crates. They all knew what they had to do. A firefight took place between Brutes supported buy Unggoy forces and Kig-yar. Sangheili Rebels surged forth in desperation. Warlord Klones fired his weapon at any enemy forces. He struck one brute a few times before Var'ush finished the creature off. Return plasma fire hit crates blowing chunks of plasti all over. Plasma grenade landed pretty close both of them rolled away. Klones shields flared briefly. Var'suh shields fell but recharged with no injuries. They both returned fire cutting down "Grunts" As the Humans called them or Unggoy with plasma fire. Warlord Klones threw a grenade at the diving methane breathers. It exploded detonating the methane in a huge explosion that took out a few Kig-yar supporting them. Out numbered they still were able to defeat the guards at the docks. Half of there number survived. Klones had spent most of the battle supporting the other forces. As soon as the shooting stopped he worked to get the clamps undone and access to the ship. Divine Fire docking collar connected. Alarms sounded confusingly as they made there escape. Sealing the hatch behind them he was greeted by two ship security officers. Both Sangheili sealed the hatch as the last of there group boarded. Warlord Klones took a lift up to the bridge. As he entered he could see a battle took place. Kig-yar lay dead. A few monitors were broken. The General turned to see Klones arrive. " We are leaving. It seems the flood are here." Klones felt the ship moving out of the bay as the huge bay doors opened. They could see creatures with green corrupted skin rushing along the docks. They were too late to stop Divine Fire departure. " We were able to gain access to the battle net to open the doors. Our fleet is outside engagement each other but once we restore order we will make sure nothing leaves High Charity." "We were betrayed by the Prophets. The Arbiter has shown us the treachery. Still we will need a place to stage our attacks against the Prophets forces." Warlord Klones agreed." I have a few planets i was setting up to be used. Once we are able i can contact others to see who is willing to join us. Then we can strike against our enemies." The General sighed greatly." It pains me we had to kill our allies. They left us no choice. You did well getting here Warlord. High Charity is lost to us. We must try to-" Helmsmen reported to the General." Sir we are being flagged for interdiction operations." The General simply nodded knowing that many burdens rest on his shoulders. " When we come in range let us help in the battle." Helmsmen pointed at a Forerunner Ship Leaving High Charity." Sir look". Both Warlord and General watched it go into Hyperspace. Klones had other worries at the moment. It seemed as if his world was crumbling before his very eyes. He had hoped it would not come to this but Civil war was in full swing while he was held captive. He felt a deep sense of loss. All these lives wasted. Yet they had escaped being consumed like all the rest unknowingly abroad High Charity. Twice he nearly was killed yet he some how survived by being lucky. It was a strange twist of fate. Yet he was grateful for being alive. Klones looked out at the ships battling as they moved closer. This would be a day drenched in blood. They would be the last ship ever to leave High Charity. It was sad but necessary at the same time. Klones was not sure what to belive. He did know that more will be uncovered. What they will find is unknown like the uncertain future. Questions filled his mind with no answers. Klones searched for the answers in the stars. Klones reflected on this for a great deal of time. [Edited on 11.04.2012 6:02 AM PST]

 • [ Present Day(2552)After Finding of A Halo Ring(Destroyed), High Charity, Covenant Council Chambers.] Warlord Klones stood before the Council. Each race had representatives seated around him. Never before had he been brought before the Council but it was a wonder of craftsmanship. A Jilralhanae Chief stood near. His pack brothers stood behind Klones. The Prophets appeared to lend the credence to the seriousness to the situation. Only one was in person the other two were Holograms. The session begin with the Prophet of Regret presiding." You Warlord Klones have been brought here to answer to growing concern you are plotting against the foundation's of the Covenant. The Council will here evidence to the contrary." Jilaralhanae Chief stepped forward " A collection of warriors who are in his service yet none will speak. Our agents who tried to pry further disappeared or were killed in accidents." Warlord Klones knew the "Brutes" methods. They match the name humans have given them very well. " What little information could be collected shows arms being collected and possibly equipment but it is hard to track due to all of this being in possession of warriors in the Covenants service." Brute Chieftain stated with certainty. Prophet of Regret turned his gaze to Warlord Klones." What say you ?" All eyes were uncomfortably on Klones now. Klones reached full height." I have strengthened the Covenant. There are many dissatisfied with the war. I have fought Heratics and Dissidents to strengthen our war efforts. I have respect of many Covenant races who sit here due to my efforts at obtaining information." " Our greatest victory to date was the Human world of Reach. My intelligence network was able to gain this prize. Since i have become Warlord every effort worthy of my talents have been used to find the humans. So these charges are baseless. I have no idea what happened to those agents you sent. My efforts were focused on the War." " Further more the Council should hear about how i am trying to gather more information on the HALO artifacts. With out my network of contacts i have built over nine cycles and iron roads i have made with the other races we would have difficulty finding any information at all. Thus my record shows i am committed to the Covenant." The Prophets whispered to themselves at the end of his brief. They nodded to each other. In agreement. Inaudible whispering for some time. Prophet of Regret turned to Klones." We understand the actions you have taken to safe guard the Covenant. This new information shows a new light into questionable activities. Motives that have no answers with such little information to go on. While we gather more Warlord. We ask you be detained here." Warlords Klones was taken aback a bit." Detained for what ?" Prophet of Regret squinted." To see if these charges are baseless. I am sure there is nothing to find with such little evidence. You will be taken to a isolated cell while we gather the necessary information." Klones shoulders slumped while a member of the honor guard stepped forward instead of the Brutes. Klones was guided to a Cell. Energy field clicked on. Klones sat back thinking. He had built a secret network of contacts. This was true. What they wanted to find out was about the rest of his dealings. He had stockpiled weapons. It was true about his other dealings but what few knew was how many. Like the Human organization ONI. He was leader of the Covenant Shadow Guard. Even if they found more he had secondary plans in motion should he be killed or injured. It would be his Legacy for his peoples survial. He knew a rift was happening in the Covenant. It was a matter of time before the Prophets replaced his people when the war with the humans was over. Differences to the Great Journey were allready were gaining heratics support. Many did not believe in the Prophets promises yet many more did. Some secrets needed to remain so. Some secrets were too dangerous to reveal. Right now he needed every one to think he knew only a bit. If they knew the depth of how much he really knew. They would have killed him. Years have been hard on him but there were pleasant things to think about. Clicking on a small triangle shaped holo-locket of his wife. She waved saying"I love you Klones." Even with the war going on he had been able to do so much. Yet even he could not share his secrets with her. It would put her in danger. It was probably his only weakness. Sitting down in the cell Klones leaned back to take a simple nap. He had pleasant dreams for once. About his wife in her garden in the back of there home. [Edited on 11.03.2012 7:46 PM PDT]

 • [Divine Fire Orbiting Occupied Territory, Atlantis.] Klones stepped on the bridge looking about. Seeing Warlord he stepped over with anger in his eyes. Warlord looked up from speaking to the General who seemed amiss at the younger warriors actions. Klones threw the holo-locket at Warlord Izzard who caught it then turned it on." You betrayed my trust. You who i looked up to." Warlord looked at the locket then to Klones." I did what i must." Klones shook his head in disgust. " Killing my Uncle!, Even my Aunt!..Misdeeds that have been repaid in full. Your nephew is dead to his own doing. He tried to blackmail me. You even endorsed this." Throwing a data pad with the information at Warlords feet. Klones shook with rage letting out a bellow." In the traditions of our people i challenge you to one on one combat for the deaths of my family. Betraying the trust of our people. Actions taken unworthy of a warrior.". Klones ignited his energy blade its white/blue glow illuminated both the Warlord and Generals face. The General stepped back as his golden armor reflected the blue glow." Is this true Warlord ?" Unsure what was going on. The General looked at Warlord with a piercing gaze. Warlord shook his head yes." It is. I have done everything to save our people. The Great Journey requires we make sacrifices. Prophets promised us a place. I have sacrificed a great deal." Warlord ignited his energy blade looking at Klones. Yet speaking to every one. " The cost was too much. The Prophets play us like fools Warlord. We are not there pets. Great Journey for us will be different. We will not walk the path of blood to sacrifice our people. This must end." Klones waited for Warlord to respond. The General bellowed out."Clear the bridge. This is a contest of honor." Bridge crew set a course then exited as directed. Only the General stood on the bridge away from the Combatants. " I know more than you ever will Klones. I know you will not beat me. That our people have a place at the Prophets side." Klones struck at Warlord who expected it blocking the blades flared. Shrugging Klones back. Warlord went for a low strike. Klones made a improvised block. Both of them spun to clash again with a overhead move." You have improved Klones but i have the experience of countless battles." Shoving his shoulder into Klones chest he stumbled backwards before rolling out of the way of a kill strike that would have slashed his throat. " Not today you do not. I seek Justice for all those you have killed to silence the truth.!." Launching him self at Warlord, Klones body checked Warlord who's energy blade instinctively came up to slash Klones shoulder. The strike continues angled up shattering part of his helmet incidentally. Klones blade buried deep in Warlords chest griping his sword arm. " You will not take any more lives in your mad quest for power. Our path will be better." Warlords face had regret in it." I..am sorry." Klones drew out the energy sword. His face was bleeding. His right eye did not work. The General Held up Klones who rushed him to the medical center Two decks down. They took a lift down as The General half-carried Klones who was placed in a medical pod it treated his injuries. The General spoke to the half-aware Klones who was in a tube filled with medical nano-gel." We will discuss things when you get out Warlord. Rest now" Klones felt warmth then peace as his body rested from its injuries. [A few days later] Klones entered the bridge in his golden armor. He reported to the General." Sir!" Coming to attention. The General looked from the view port nodding at Klones." You have been promoted to Warlord. You hold our ideals to heart. You shall serve the Covenant with honor. I am sorry it had to end this way. But together we can finish this war with the humans. The Great Journey will happen one day but until then we will act with honor." Klones nodded standing next to the General. " I will serve as i always have. Advocate of our people. Protector of the Covenant and its ways. Honor those who came before us, Walk the true path of enlightenment." Klones looked at the field of stars. Both stood in silence as they gazed out into the field of stars. Klones felt regret yet he did not fear the dark any longer it was his ally. The Human gave a great deal of information on what happened. It seems the humans uncovered a greater threat while discovering the ruins. Once the human presence was neutralized they would possibly clear it. Yet for now it was off limits to every one. Klones was unsure what these artifacts might hold information but the threat was too great to risk another venture down there for now. Pacifying the planet was priority for now. All records were locked down for Council eyes only. They would wait for orders for now. Yet Klones had regrets. It seemed Warlord was holding out on his dealings. It seemed easy for many to fall to the promise of power. Yet some evils are necessary. It made Klones wonder if he could fall to such promises of power. He had seen what happened before. Changes would need to be made. It seemed the Prophets were too entrenched in Sangheili affairs to challenge the fact they were nothing more than tools. In secret they had to resist. They would never be seen as equals in the eyes of the Phrophet's. Those who openly took a stand were killed. He would work in the shadows. He hoped that things would change. If he learned anything it was that one must fight for equality. In his heart he knew that there will be conflict over this issue. Possibly even war, but that prospect will happen when it developed. Until then he would play along for now. [Edited on 11.03.2012 4:43 PM PDT]

 • [Underwater 8 miles down. Atlantis Colony] When the reinforcements arrived they were ready to breach the bulkhead door. Unggoy arrived with Kig-yar that had squad leaders of there own races. Three squads arrived two Unggoy, One Kig-yar. Fifteen in total. Zervros had them get ready as they opened the hatch. Klones felt cool air flow in from down the hall. This Bulkhead was strange being it only could be opened from one side. All the squads headed down a human patched corridor that lead down deeper to a room that was clearly not human but Forerunner. As they got closer a voice was muttering ahead it was a human voice but it sounded disturbed. A little green light shined at a bearded face that muttered. Zervros seeing the human might have information strode forward down the corridor. Even with the lights the Unggoy were skittish. It did not feel right here. "You do not belong here!..leave." It said in Covenant Speak."They will come.." Zervros grabbed this man by his dirty white shirt speaking clearly." You will tell us what is here or die." Lifting the human in the air grasping his neck. Only gurgling noises came from him as he struggled not to loose any air. Klones could see a larger room ahead he looked back at Zervros waving him to come over. Zervros shoved the human down then walked over to see the room. It was very large room. It looked like it was a station of some kind. Clearly not human but it did have some human equipment or coverings over parts of it. It felt heavy as they neared a door ahead. One of the Kig-yar took this human prisoner. They approached this door. The human was mumbling something in his own language. Yet he seemed afraid. The darkness pressed in. Something could be heard moving in the dark. Then it was as if the darkness came alive. Figures leaped out grabbing Unggoy. Plasma fire chased there wake as the figures ran off crushing the body's. Klones shot one many times. No being could survive that. Yet it ran off crushing the life from its victim. Then creatures that used to be humans rushed in fearless. Not even Needle guns would slow them down. They wore human clothing. Some had human items on there body's or armor that was corroded. Needlers exploded them when a great dead of them were shot into the bodys. They fell back. Energy Swords flared in the darkness as the enemy was cut apart. They fought back to back. It was utter chaos for the other troops. The human ran off screaming with a crazed look in his eyes. They cut there way out slashing shooting or grenades any enemy. Braghust fell to the enemy as they reached the bulkhead door slamming it shut. He was fighting when he was rushed being brought down. There was no choice. Klones was aware others were in the room. It was the security officer with four squads of troops waiting for them. " I read your reports but you left some information out. I diverted those submersibles to pick up my team. Kalack stay here watch them. When i return we will deal with the punishment of the heretics." Opening the door this Security Officer was rushed by creatures. Seeing that Kalack would be in peril he closed the door with the others on the Security Officer who was too busy being pummeled with great force. Klones helped shut the door. They made sure it was locked. It became silent as no more plasma blasts could not be heard. Klones looked at Kalack a fellow Sangheili warrior who seemed to be afraid at the moment." Who was that officer ?" Looking for a moment at Klones before Kalack answered. His eyes had seen a great deal of war but never what he saw briefly. Question took a moment to register as he let the image of horror fade from his mind." That was the Warlords Nephew." Kalack said with distaste. Klones stepped back with shock. His head lowered speechless. Zervros found some human SCUBA gear then proceeded to force the human to dress. Taking him along practically dragging the screaming human into the water pool that lead to the exit. Each of them checked there underwater gear sealing helmets. Swimming over to the Scarab. They boarded then spent the rest of the time reflecting in silence at what happened. Klones did not know what to say. It was allot to take in. They were his family but it was strange that this happened. What was he going to say to the Warlord ?. Yet an idea formed. No the Warlord knew. He had to know. It was time to get the truth from him. It seemed his world was turned upside down. He felt shamed that he did not go back to save them. Yet his family will be shattered. It made him angry that this is what they did. He will not be a puppet.

 • Chapter:3 [Atlantis, Location:Unknown(130 miles off shore)] Battle Cruiser bay opened as it did Klones could see the ship get lower in the Atmosphere. Every one was inside checking over gear used for both space and underwater. One leak could kill some one so it was necessary to check it over a few times. Zervros was hoping what he had for lunch would stay down. His nerves were on edge with everything going on. He was worried that some how that this Agent would not get what he wanted then try to blackmail him into doing more. Question being where does a soldiers loyalty lie ? More ever why was he doing this ? It was hope that he had that when push comes to shove this agent had better do what he claimed or he will learn a harsh lesson. Compromising others to manipulate motives or goals ends up bad for the instigator. He is even now tempted to put his energy sword into him self but it would solve nothing. Checking his gear over to ensure it was at peak levels, Klones mind was on other things. Warm memories flood back to him as Warlords Nephew and him were playing catch the bug with nets. It had been a warm sunny day in the jungle. Its sounds smells that felt like a distant echo. It was a distant memory. Feeling a bit better he blinked to look around. T-47 bridge was calm as Kig-yar released her over the drop point. They were in free fall so Klones pushed himself into a corner. They splashed into the water then began descending into the deep waters of the vast sea. Before they went under the rig could be seen out the Cockpit. Zervros with two other Elites were on the bridge of the Scarab as well. The team was overseeing things here while Kig-yar ignored the presence to concentrate on there duties. Scarab slowly descended into the depths of the ocean. Lights clicked on to show the inky dark depths. Fishes would swim by as they plunged miles underwater. A tube went down as well built by the humans no doubt into the depths of the ocean floor. All of this was overwhelming. Being dropped from the air into the water was exciting as going into the deep its self. Yet fear lingered out there in the depths. Worries of the Scarab not being able to withstand the pressure being crushed like a can of rations. Creeking begin as every one started to notice half way down. Not much posed a threat to the walking fortress. Even Zervros gave worried looks at the pressure noises. Klones decided it was a good time to check over his portable mainframe interface. It was a computer that could interface with any electronic device. Also it had scanning uses beyond what his suit was able to do. Best of all it was portable. Takeing it off his back he did a quick test to see if it were all systems go. Bringing up the planet he was on then connecting it with the Scarabs sensors so he could see what the Kig-Yar do on there displays. Satisfied it was working he left it on idle to collect data. Placed it on his back like a mini backpack. Every one was quiet in there own thoughts. He wondered if every one could see his guilt or was that his mind playing tricks on him. Klones was unsure of this yet stared off into the dark water. It made him uneasy to think of fish ripping him apart so he kept eyes on the pilots who were doing a good job of keeping them stable. Finally they reach the bottom with a muffled thud. As the Scarab legs take the impact. It jolted them off there feet. Once every one recovered, a Kig-Yar squawked at them. Swarrk.arrrk (We are here. Moving to search area.) T-47 moved to its location. Every one had eyes peeled for any sign of the structure. Fishes swam past. Kelp seemed to cover the sand here. It seemed like hours they were down here in the depths before they were able to find a city underwater. This certainly was not of any civilization that he was familiar with. They also spotted a human structure made of concrete jutting from the edge of the city. " Look there Sir we should gain entry there." pointing at the human base. Zervros moved forward to the Kig-Yar pilots." Get closer so we can find out how to get in." Directing them to adjust course. Lights splayed over the concrete surface to show a single airlock."There..Bring us close as you can." Not waiting for a reply Zervros geared up with the rest of the team for a dive. They cycled the hatch as the Scarab was refitted for this duty. It was able to fight on moons if necessary. All four of them exited the Scarab to swim over to the hatch. Opening it they waited till it pressurized in a water pool that they swam up from. Single ladder lead out of the divers area to a hallway. Zervros took the lead turning on his Active Cloaking. Every one else fallowed suit. It was deathly quite in here. It was a mess as human equipment was scattered all over the place. Security Checkpoint was up ahead with a single white uniformed human, partly laying half out of the thick glass. He had been dead for some time now due to decomposition of the corpse. Zervros checked out the body. " A human security officer. See his black armband. It must have taken a great deal of force to shatter the glass." Klones moved over to where a pistol lay near a chair and table." Here is his weapon." Zervros checked the clip showing Klones how to do so." Safety is off. He shot half a clip." Braghust shrugged his shoulders." So ? a boogy man got the human ?." Zervros put down the weapon." I see no blood but whet ever he shot killed him. That many bullets would kill most Covenants let alone humans." Shadrnos called out." Sir you should see this." Everyone came over to a single human elevator. It was wrecked. Some sort of bomb was used to destroy it. Some sort of misshapen corpse had been killed yet it looked wrong. Alien looking. It was too burnt to make out what color it was but no one could see much in the darkened area. Single spark from a broken light was all the light provided. " Whew that thing stinks. Worse than a Brute after his afternoon meal." Braghust turned to walk away. Soon others did as well. Zervros opened his com link to the Scarab." We have possible Unknown enemies at our location will you send over a few squads." His head bobbed in acknowledgement." May the gods bless you." Zervros looked around uneasy now with the situation." We are waiting for reinforcements. We will clear this area so the other troops can swim over. I want to use this as a prep area for additional squads. While i make the arrangements see if you can get these bodies out of here." Zervros directed his team who complied. Klones did not like this place it felt cold like a graveyard at night. Something was not right here but it would not help them remove the bodies. They dumped them out the airlock. This place was unused for some time now. But he could feel the dark pressing in on him. As if his nightmare was coming true. Pushing the fear from his mind seemed to get harder. It took all of his self control to not let it overtake him. Looking to the others he waited with them feeling comfortable in knowing they gave one another strength. [Edited on 10.26.2012 3:56 PM PDT]

 • [Divine Fire, Orbiting Atlantis Colony, Ten Days Later] Klones had been busy in the information center. Zervros stopped by a few times to give what data he found to help with the search. Five days in it occurred to him that what if the relic was underwater. His planet scan had not yielded anything until he looked it over on a Holographic Display Console. He blew it up to a large size. It looked as if the 2-D map was floating in the air. During this time he had been reporting but had been plotting against this agent for the council. Seeing the truth of things made him question a great deal. Yet he kept it to himself. News from the planet below regarding the war would come in as well. Enemy forces have been routed. Many of the small villages were burning along with human cities. It would not be long when those islands would be turned into fire by the excavation beam. Wealth of knowledge under his finger tips gave him tools to do his job. Images of planets such as Harvest showed the razeing strategy. One he can see that was benefiting the Prophets. A gut feeling he pushed aside to concentrate on the task at hand. He finally had matches later on yet ruled some out. Setting the planet scan to search around or under the island for objects it found three possible matches. Humans had cleverly used some kind of rig to hide the possible place. The others were twenty to thirty miles off shore. It was fortunate the humans were mining ? Drilling ?. This was unclear in the scans he looked over. Now the question was how to get down to these places. Humans have boats but it would be unlikely they would be able to capture one. Clicking on a fresh terminal he looked over the ships inventory. He did see watercraft on board. Some were even being used on planet. What he needed was a Submersible craft. They would need to take a T-47 Ultra Heavy Vehicle. It can with stand the pressure at that depth. He forwarded his findings to both the Warlord and Agent. Zervros showed up at second bell to get Klones for a meeting with the Warlord. They arrived in a war room filled with communications terminals. Holo displays and consoles displaying constant information. They moved to an empty briefing room, Not far from the bridge. Warlord took a seat at the head of the table. Seemed a bit more relaxed due to him not tripping over subordinates. Klones stood with Zervros silently as unit commanders from Kig-yar and Unggoy arrived. Behind them was a red armored Sangheili who had only one eye. Part of his left hand was missing as well. " Good we are all here. Now i am placing all of you under the Command of Commander Zervros here. You are to search the ocean for artifacts of religious value." Warlord begin looking around the table at the standing troops. "Klones will help use his knowledge to find it or discover locations of these places. You are to destroy any human presence or other opposition. Secure the Relics so i can send in troops to assist with recovery operations." Warlord darkened the room and a holo projector inside the table showed a three dimensional area of on the planet they would be going to. All eyes were on the map. " These locations are of prime interest. A single T-47 will make a decent into the Ocean. It will be escorted by two submersible craft. T-88 Hydro Subs." Holo table switched to displays of both the Scarab and Devil Fin. "Once it is found i will inform the General who can begin our final operations against the humans. Glory to the Gods." Every one filed out but the Warlord waved for both of them to stay. Once the room was clear Warlord Izzard waved for both of them to sit down to hear what he had to say. " I hate this war but we must carry on. I miss my wife most of all. Yet this will be very important if we succeed. Zervros you have served with me all these years." Klones listened to the Warlord who looked tired now. Even stressed. " I have sent many to die in this war. Yet this is the closest i have ever come to an artifact. Sending both of you is a hard choice. one i feel that is necessary. " Seems age is getting to me with sentiment as well. Will the gods bless us or condemn our efforts only time will tell. Even i am surprised that there was a Relic here only when the Prophets told me and the General when we first arrived." Warlord rubbed his man tables a sign of the heavy burdens he carries. " Both of you stay alive down there so we can drink some Kashari Juice when you get back to toast a great success." Both of them nodded leaving the room. Warlord Izzard sat alone staring off into a dark corner worried about what the future might bring. [Edited on 10.26.2012 11:03 AM PDT]

 • Klones awoke to find another brother standing over him while he had slept. Now rising to see this Sangheili who had waited till he was awake. " So you are The Warlords little helper ?" Stepping back to allow him out of the sleeping pod. Unsure what that had ment. He silently walked over to his armor locker to find his armor was gone. In its place was a darker suit of armor used for Special Operations. " Not much to say. Lucky for you i am going to help you out." Dressing in his new armor unsure what this fellow warrior was blathering about but he listened intently. " I want to know what our friend Warlord Izzard is doing. It is vital i am informed of any discoveries. Is this unclear ?" Speaking down to Klones made him lash out. "What i understand is you want me to betray my trust. That i cannot do Fellow brother." Scolding this would be thug. Hunger in the Zelot's eyes showed he was not bluffing." So you want to do this the hard way OK. Klones i have powerful friends. Should you not wish to help me in my investigation i will make sure you die along with your family." "If you try to harm me or tell any one about this it will go the worse for you. I will deny ever speaking to you due to me being section security leader." Waiting for the younger Sangheili to react. Klones shook his fist at the security officer in his blue armor." You dare threaten me or my family. ? Turning to grasp the now noticed energy blade hilt out of his armor locker. Meeting this fiend eye to eye. "To show i am not bluffing. This is a picture of that family. One word from me and Warlords Nephew will disappear. Or i can tell my powerful friends that you would never betray the Covenant." holding out a hologram projected from a locket. It showed Warlord, His wife Nephew and Klones all standing together at the spaceport. It was the day both of them were leaving to begin training on High Charity. Klones went silent taking the locket. It seems the humans were not the only enemies to have. Closing a hand gently around it he simply nodded. "Good now you understand. I want reports in regularly. Give me your com link." Waving a hand at Klones who simply complied. Feeling ashamed as he watched the Security Officer work on his com link. "This will record conversations. Also it has a link in it to send me Reports. Any failure to report in or our listening Device is tampered with will be met with hard penalties." Handing back the com link Klones who took it back saddened he was being forced into this against his will. "Cheer up. If the Warlord does nothing wrong we can part ways. Do as i tell you it will go smoother. Also i know about the extra training you received. Do not think it will help you here.Master Sharzzard trained me as well. Good Night Brother." Klones watched the spy disappear down the darkened Barrix past sleeping Brothers who were never awakened by the low toned exchange. He had work to do despite other's involvement with a vested interest in the Warlords dealings. He wondered if that human got the better end of the deal he had shot. He slid his weapons in place thanks to small energy fields that held them in place. The weapons weak fields could attach to any smooth surface but when grasped it detached. so the user would have a ready weapon when needed. Both energy sword and Plasma Rifle stuck themselves to his armored thigh and the small of his back. Heading down to the room he had been working in trying to figure a way out of this mess he was put in.

 • Chapter:2 [Divine Fire, Orbiting Atlantis Colony] Klones sat brooding over the loss of Kapoom. Drelos was in a bad mood over it so he stayed away. A beeping alerted his com link that a message waited for him. He was going over his equipment to make sure he was ready for the next battle. Setting down the Plasma Rifle in his armor locker with tools he was using before. He walked over to the nearest terminal to look at the message. It read:Scout Klones, Meet both your squad leader and Warlord Izzar on the bridge.-Com Officer Shi'land Wondering what this was about he donned his armor. He stopped to take a new Plasma Rifle from a crate to slide it on his side. Reaching the bridge from Sangheili quarters took a bit due to the Battle cruisers design. He stepped on to the bridge seeing several Kig-yar with his fellow brothers carrying out ship duties. Another Warrior stood with the Warlord whom he had not seen in a long time. Warlord seemed to be conversing with him before he arrived. " He is dead then ?" Warlord spoke shaking his head. " Yes sir i am Zevoros filling in for for him Warlord." Zevoros said with sad tone. His white ranger armor had seen a great deal of battle. Standing proud near the Warlord who seen him approaching. Klones knew who the Warlord was he said in a friendly tone as Zevoros looked over at him." Warlord it is good to see you again, Sir." "It is good to see you again Klones. The Genral Has ordered me to oversee operations to find a relic here on this water planet." Warlord informed both of them despite talking to Klones. It took him a moment to understand why he had been called. His knowledge of the Gods might help them find where it is hidden. "Yes sir i never was inducted into our Religious Order despite being trained for such. I was told that they needed more troops to fight the war with humans." Zerveros was surprised as well unsure what this would entail. Standing quietly looking at each of them listening for more from the Warlord. "Zerveros will assist you with these efforts as squad leader. Klones you will search for the ruins on the planet. I want a small team to investigate places that might be found. You will report to me personally." Warlord had gave orders yet dismissed them to consult the General on some matter. They both left the bridge behind to talk in a empty hallway, they were able to find. Zerveros spoke first." I will gather two others. You will need new armor as well i will get you some so you can accompany us." Klones leaned on a wall" I will search using the ship computers to see what i can find. Also i will research the planet below for any locations for these relics or clues." Zerveros understood that time was needed for Klones to gather information." Keep me informed. Do not speak of this to any one else. I will also see if our information specialist were able to crack human information terminals." "Now go we need this done." Klones was directed to leave, As he did so knowing this was going to be a difficult search. At least he had something to keep him busy from thinking about that human. Yet why is it he felt uneasy about them killing humans as if they were rabid animals. Heading off to a section of the ship seldom used. It was a information center with read outs or scans of the planet. He accessed a terminal that lit up with a holo interface. He would not fail the Warlord. He had been kind to him so long ago letting him play with his Nephew. Become apart of that family unit. He was his Step Uncle. This was not how he pictured serving with the Warlord at some point. It was important work none the less. Klones activated a few more terminals set on idle. Cross referenced his work. with those other terminals. One was set on a search pattern to cross reference anything related to this planet. Second one was scanning the planet for any objects or places with an enhanced scan to pick up what was missed with a general scan. Third one he searched archives for any kind of logs on or about relics related to this planet found on others across many worlds. Listening or watching logs took a great deal of time to sift though. It was mind boggling the amount of Data here yet he was able to get it formatted for a specific selection after half a planet revolution of work. At least his research methods were ingrained by his Battle Chaplin who would have been proud of the way he was able to organize it all. Klones dreaded going to sleep to nightmares but he felt a sense of purpose in the work. Leaving the room he locked it to be sure no one disturbed the information inside before heading to his sleeping pod. [Edited on 10.25.2012 7:55 PM PDT]

 • Klones rushed over a hill. Early morning sunlight peeked over scattered clouds. It showed the devastation on this human base. Drelos fallowed behind as they finally entered the base proper. Humans had fell back to defensive positions. They were covering a retreat. Every one was tired from the firefight at the bases perimeter. Humans finally fell back when numbers were too many. Drelos fallowed with his team. Each got along well with Klones. Pausing in the brush they waited seeing several dead Covenant races left out to rot in the early morning light. A open distance to a wire fence. Concrete sloping upwards to Human defenders. Barricades with sandbags formed a line with human defenders with some mounted guns. He could see there lines bringing in heavy weapons to deal with the last few defenders of this Naval Base. Activity at the docks was frantic as humans evacuated wounded to some other location. Human airships were loading wounded as well. His section leaders voice came over the com." This is the final attack. Our enemy is hard pressed. Soon we will end there affront to our gods. We shall burn them with fire. Once our heavy forces arrive we will begin the assault." Klones knelled down to wait in the pause in this battle. He looked over the Unggoy squad with his head lowered. Many were dead during the night battle. This final push would end it. He spent it hiding so they could direct forces to the humans. They engaged in a few firefights to put pressure on human forces into retreating. They were lucky with no losses but other units were not so lucky. They would come upon body's at times both humans or fallen brothers in battle. He could feel the tension in the air as the peace would not last long. Those humans showed honor in fighting yet those who stayed behind so there fellow soldiers can escape will be shown no mercy. Two drop ships dropped in two Wraiths with heavy troops. Hunters landed with squads of Unggoy with Fuel Rod Guns to give Covenant forces a harder punch. Standing he could see friendly forces start to gather in the brush for the final attack. Klones checked his plasma rifle. Not a word was said as every one could feel things shift. His Squad Leader stepped forward." Attack!" He yelled while running towards the enemy line. A wave of colors surged forth towards the human line. They rushed like a wave breaking into squads. Plasma Blasts from Wraiths bombarded the defenders. Weapons fire cut down those rushing towards the human line. Kapoom threw a grenade up at a gun emplacement blowing it or any one else with it in a huge blue electric ball of fire. A Sniper Shot hit Kapoom in the head he fell over. Drelos was firing at defenders then turned to see what happened. Klones fired to keep the defenders down who were being overrun. Humans fell back for the final stand."Fallow me" Klones said to his small warrior friends who charged up to lay down plasma fire into the human menince. Klones hit a human with a shotgun who fell over. He moved up close pointing his wepon at the man. It said some words he did not understand. Pain in its voice. His shields flared as a bullet deflected off them. He looked about for the threat but found none. Looking down it died as life left the humans body. His race was trained for war but this soldier fought honorably. He left the body untouched. Troops entered the building to search for humans. They found a few who surrendered with out a fight. All were brought out to kneel down with hands behind there heads. Klones noticed now Drelos was missing. He turned behind walking back to see him holding Kapooms fallen body. Klones approached Drelos who was sobbing. He placed a hand on the Unggoys small shoulder to comfort him. Drelos looked up" My brother is with our gods now." Klones simply nodded then returned to the others, seeing a firing squad being set up. Approaching his Section Leader he was confused."Sir?, We are not taking prisoners.?" Section Leader shook his white head no sadly."Not here we are not Genral's Orders." Plasma bolts finished off the remaining humans as Drop ships landed to take wounded away to be treated. Klones turned away knowing this was wrong but did not question it. Not publicly. He felt disgusted at such a honorable foe being killed in such a way. [Edited on 10.22.2012 5:45 PM PDT]

 • [2 revolutions later,Atlantis Nightfall] Klones looked up at the twin moons of this ocean planet. He understood why the humans settled here. It was a beautiful planet. His team had stayed hidden to catalog human settlements on this island. Three large towns with small villages across it. Two military bases with navy base to round off the islands inhabitants. This place reminded him of his home planet. Wet with jungles mostly on his world. Looking down from a hill at the Enemy Navy base he got a signal from his ship. This voice sounded deeper as it spoke"Scout teams, We have the information you have collected. We are sending in our first strike units in. Home in on those becomes to welcome our brothers to cleanse the human filth. General Routhar out." Klones waved Drelos silently over to get the others in line to fallow him out. Each cloaked in the darkness heading towards the Beacons. Humans had become aware of some attack. Navy Base behind them was alerted with human troops running around to get ready. It would be too late for these humans. Drop Pods were landing inside that Human Navy Base. His scout unit made its way to a beacon. Soon Drop Ships landed to deliver troops into enemy held territory. Drop Ships would ferry units onto the battlefield to keep up pressure to any humans who would stand against them. Klones watched his section leader drop in with about sixty other troops his White Ranger armor showed like bone at night. Klones approached him a brother Sangheili. " We are ready to scout the way for you." Leaning close so he could be herd over the incoming drop ships. "Our orders are to attack that human base. You will be joining us brother. Our main force is attacking them so we will hit them on the side." Section leader checking the needle rifle while speaking. Then he pointed across a hill to that Navy Base they had been spying on. Klones fist to his chest " Glory and Honor" moveing off to join Drelos and the others. " We are going to help in this attack. Move up take cover, Do not stop firing. Stay with them. Let's go." Plasma Rifle at the ready Klones moved forward. Drelos nodded to Klones back." Ok big guy we fallow you. Lets go get those heretics." Kapoom cheered " We blow stuff up now!" Other grunts cheered as well. No one knew what to expect. Drelos did not cheer he remained silent. [Edited on 10.13.2012 12:08 PM PDT]

 • [Divine Fire, Orbiting Atlantis] Klones made his way to the hanger bay. Before entering he checked over his energy rifle at his side. Then he checked the armor's shield levels also. It was quiet in the hanger as he waited near the spirit that would carry him down to the planet surface. Spending a season on board let him get used to ship life. He practiced regularly on his lessons learned in training. Even honing his weapon skills on board. Drelos was dressed for combat with Kapoom behind him. The other three Unggoy fallowed behind to fill out the scout squad. Drelos waved a hello." Hi big guy" Klones stood tall in his minor armor proud to serve with the experienced little warrior." We with other scout units are to look for humans below." Each little warrior had a combat environmental suit. Wearing masks that let them breathe methane. Each had plasma pistols with plasma grenades to round out there offensive armament. Words cannot describe the Unggoy personality. They are at times child like. Yet can be fierce combatants. There race is not lacking of personality. It does lighten the mood some how. Finally the Spirit was ready for them. This one was pretty old with constant use. It had quite a few dents on its hull. Not to mention places that showed signs of fading. Drop Ship doors opened to let every one board it. Klones sat into the harness that had small fields to hold you in yet when you wished to exit all you needed to do was hit the release sensor. Klones let the fields take effect holding him in place. Hatches closed. Docking clamps were released as he could feel the vessel float on its own power. He could not see much leaning in the darkness except a small green strip of light coming down to dimly illuminate his harness. He felt acceleration now the Drop Ship pick up speed as it left the main hanger bay. Alone with his thoughts he kept seeing that face of the one who fell into the lake. His thoughts were interrupted when a strong assertive voice spoke to him over his com link." Scout Squad, This is Squad Leader. It is tradition for you being the least experienced to head down first." " Orders are to Scout the area for enemy communications, Any place humans live. Keep on the look out for human military. " " Keep out of sight when you land. We are dropping you on a rather large jungle island. Also do not forget to use Active Cloaking. Report anything that looks strange even for humans." His Com went silent as he said" Yes sir". Soon after he could feel them hit the atmosphere. It was a bumpy ride down as turbulence hit the drop ship. A moment of calm once they re-entered the atmosphere. His drop ship bucked like a wild animal when strong wind's hit his side of the ship. Threatening the generators who were working on keeping the craft stable at the hands of its pilot. Drop Bay doors opened. He got a face full of rain. It was hard to see outside with a tropical storm hitting the area. As the Drop Ship floated down so they could free fall a few feet to the ground. Rain pelted every part of his body. Wind making it difficult to see let alone get out of his harness. This would take timing. As the strip above his head lit up red he hit the release switch. Timing it right between gusts. Klones jumped out yet he landed on his quadruped feet. Ground being slippery he fell right into some wet muck. Spirits pilot had at least kept them from jumping off from the only clear area. Unable to see his Drop Ship it was able to rise into the sky. Klones stood up all muddy yet he had to rescue the Unggoy who fell out instead of landing properly. One nearly drowned landing in a huge mud hole. Helping each of them get unstuck was humorous but he wanted to get out of the rain soaked clearing. Kapoom lead every one to the jungle interior. Klones made sure every one did a weapons check. Each Unggoy muttered about rain as they went farther into the jungle. [Edited on 10.13.2012 10:27 AM PDT]

 • [9 Cycles Ago,Divine Fire ] Kones rode a drop ship over to his new home, with two Unggoy arguing over how ugly humans might be. "They UGLY!-Me tell you brother." said one. "Not too ugly"the other argued. Seeing they were using a holo-comp to project a image of humans. It slid onto the next one. "Demon!" one said frightened. "Make it go away Brother.!" next image came up quick. I moved closer to both of them. " Demons ?" They shook there heads afraid. " Enemies who use Heretic Metal Creatues. Bad Bad." " I am Klones who are you ?" He said calmly trying to sooth the little creatures. " I am Drelos, This is Kapoom." Nodding its head to his green clad friend. " We scouts. When we blow up stuff ?" Drelos shakes his head. " Blow up things later. You new big one ?" It asked in a squeaky but respectful voice. I merely dipped my head in acknowledgement. " Me not worried you look better than mean guy before." They both turned back to arguing about how ugly humans looked. His Drop Ship Docked with Divine Fire All three exited. Outside the energy screen he could see High Charity floating silhouetted against the stars. Some one waited for them. Clad in red a Zealot came over. " So you are my new replacements. This way then." This Zealot seemed to not even ask names. Also had a cold manner about him. Showing them to pods each were separated by race. As he was shown to his pod with where fellow Sangheili were bunked. This Zealot spoke to him in a low voice." I am Zealot Valk'Ar squad leader. You will be under my command leading our scout section. Do be careful. Our scouts take heavy losses. You will be assisted by Unggoy during these duties." Valk'Ar leaving behind a confused Klones. [Edited on 10.03.2012 3:30 PM PDT]

 • [10 Cycles ago,High Charity] Klones awoke he got up from his sleeping pod. He missed living at the Warlords estate but he was apprenticed off when he did his age of maturity ritual. He dressed quickly not waking his other podmates. He was required to wear armor during a time of war. Carry a weapon as well. Taking a Plasma Rife from the storage pod near his door he exited. He wanted to shake off his bad dream. Being chased by shadow things. He came face to face with the one he defeated. Alton'iss called on the frenzy feeders to rip his flesh apart as he was drawn under the lake. It was a dream that had happened. Each Sangheili must undergo training for the right of maturity. Two Aspirants face off on a rock at a dangerous lake. This final test weeds out those who are weak. Some who are lucky might live. Others usually die. Alton'iss was well trained but he stuck to it. It was his downfall when my staff hit his leg out of instinct. I Used my staff to hit his chest while off balance. I can see him in slow motion as he trys to grab my staff. I could not take back what started. He was unable to grab it. Turning away i can hear his screams. I was no better than he. My sudden inspiration defeated my opponent. I was allowed to honor the gods. Some make it even defeated. They are given secondary roles. Yet my memories are fresh. He had every advantage. Some how i prevailed. Pushing aside these brooding thoughts for now. Taking a lift up to a quiet spot he found. Passing a network of bulkheads connected with bridges he stepped inside a dimly lit room. It had a stunning view to space. His mandibles clicked excitedly. Blast panels could be slid in place in case of attack. Yet it was the one place he could be alone. Coming to High Charity was a great honor. He was to study Religion as an Acolyte. In secret however, It became apparent he was being trained to Spy, Sabotage or even Assassinate. Being lead off from his studies was at times frustrating. A black armored warrior would instruct him on many things. His Battle Chaplin would return to take him back as it never happened. Unsure what was expected of him he stared off into the cold reaches of space. Huge see through panels allowed one to look out into such a void. It relaxed him to be here. He felt the warm embrace of the shadows. It kept him safe. [Edited on 10.03.2012 2:00 PM PDT]

 •
[Edited on 10.03.2012 12:59 PM PDT]
