Its been fun here, but my time spent on this site is starting to affect my school grades. I'd appreciate it if you just perma banned me. If not, I could just make a spam post or something but I'd rather not go out that way.
Thanks mods :)

Just learn how to manage your time better.

You could throw away your cpu.
Posted by: OneDeadCaveMan Just wondering (and I hope this is relevant), have there ever been carpet permabans here? Is that a thing? Like, say a group of spammers creating a thread that they all join in, and a mod used it as a target for a precision strike on all of them? And is there anything that is grounds for a permaban if the user has never violated the rules before? Like a really bad spam attack?
Not in my experience. Those who reply and support a disruption are not at the same level of malice as those who initiate the disruptions. So, I personally see a difference between those who start a fire and those who dance around it.
Posted by: x Foman123 x As a side note, I have issued "permabans by request" many times. Usually the best way to do it is just PM me, and I'll ban you until the date of your choice or permaban with a notation that your ban should be lifted at your request.
So how much pleasure do you get from these acts, exactly? :-)
Posted by: RigZ Boi Do you permaban immediately upon request? Or do you accept the users request, agree to do it, but give them waiting to change their mind? I believe the latter idea to be a lot more sensible. yorkie
I don't, but others may. I see a permaban as a sign that the account (and the person associated with it) is not welcome here, has proven repeatedly that they are unable to abide by their promise to follow the terms of their membership agreement, and unless the permabanning moderators judgement is flawed, should be nearly impossible to appeal, overrule or suspend. To me, permabans are not a way of saying "you dun goofed", but rather, "we would prefer that you find your Internet enjoyment elsewhere".
-
Learn self control. You will be better for it overall if you do that than avoiding something you enjoy, that is not truly harmful to you.

There's a way of doing this without getting banned. Step 1: Log out of Bnet. Let us know when you've done that.
-
Or you could actually handle the clear psychological issue and addiction you have to these forums. That seems a more prudent action to take than hiding the problem.
-
Then realises that a perma ban doesn't stop you from posting on bnet. lol inb4 new alt.
Posted by: burritosenior
Posted by: Unanimate Objec so would the permaban affect your title until it is lifted, or does it just make your account lock down for a while?
... It's a ban. It would affect your title just like any other ban. There's nothing special about being banned by request. It's the same ban everybody else gets.
So, it's like me saying for you to slap me. Me: "I can't do it, señor, stop me." Señor: "Right here? In front of the whole school?" Me: "It's for my own good. I didn't want to personally talk to a teacher about it, but rather let the whole school see me for who I really am." Señor: *Slap* ??? Possible Profit? I think being banned by request shouldn't hurt your trust-system points. Of course, then a whole bunch of variables come into play, but we'll talk about that some other time.
Posted by: burritosenior Why not just PM a moderator?
Not as effective.

Dang son you only lasted 3 months. I don't see why people can't just walk away. When I'm really busy and have better things to do I just don't get on. And when I have time I get on. I never let it get in the way of important things. Well good luck staying away, my guess is that you'll come back someday.

I'll be a little blunt if you don't mind, don't consider it personal against you, but my two little cents on the issue of this thread in general. A young individual (most like highschool, but could range from middleschool to college) is unable to control his own impulsive nature to go to a gaming website, which he has only been a part of for a couple months. Then in those months, has reasoned that he should make alts, and so for what reason no one may know. Then instead of simply having self-control over himself, or simply PM'ing a mod about having his account temporarily closed, until he so feels he can control himself or need not worry about self-control. He feels it better (and most likely more egotistically gratifying) to make a "public announcement" of his own inability to control himself, and his need for moderator intervention. How is this ever deemed as appropriate? I do wish to state, none of what I said applies to the OP. I've never seen him post, nor do I know him personally. I simply feel this is a trend a lot of younger users think is acceptable when school becomes more pressing on them. This same behavior could have repercussions on their real life if they feel by having authority dictate their inability to self-control, they are somehow better off. I don't know what the moderators can do honestly, if I did I'd have suggested it instead of this ramble. Anyone kind of understand what I'm getting at?

Just log off and never come back. Take the honorable way out. Or PM a Ninja.
