I thought you guys were just being douchebags when you said your Supers took more skill to use.
I thought you Bladedancers were just lying through your teeth when you said you could be killed easily. Same goes for you, Gunslingers.
I thought you guys were just being condescending when you said the Hunter class relies more on player skill than class abilities.
I thought you guys were just salty when you said you got shafted in PvE.
Boy oh boy, how wrong I was.
The past few days, I've started to use my Hunter. And I'm starting to see why you guys say the things you do.
I took my Hunter into Crucible, to see if it really was any different. I can honestly say I was surprised.
I quickly learned I couldn't play like I do on my Titan - my grenades had half the potency, and my melee wasn't as generous. I decided that I was going to have to rely on myself and my abilities more than my class and it's abilities.
To be truthful, I think it's making me a smarter, and better player. After around 30 games of Control, I'm pretty satisfied with my performance so far. Go ahead, look for yourself!
But then came the moment. My super was ready. I was prepared to deliver a world of butthurt unto the enemy team which they would remember for years.
I activated my Arc Blade, ran around the corner, got one kill, and got shut down by a pair of shotgun wielding Titans.
That's happened more than a few times, I'm not afraid to admit. Only once so far have I had 5 kills, I'm actually averaging about 1-2 a Super.
You guys weren't joking.
I also had the chance to do a Normal run through the Vault of Glass. There I was: a level 27 Hunter heading to cripple the Vex, armed with some borrowed weapons, a half-decent grenade, and a Super that can only kill a few enemies, and drops even less orbs.
Again, you guys weren't joking.
So again, I apologize. You guys aren't lying or being condescending when you say the things you do, you're just as serious as everyone else in the room.
I know I have but a miniscule amount of play as a Hunter, so I'm certain I'll experience everything the more I use it.
P.S. - I'm sorry for choosing Bladedancer first, I had to see for myself if what you guys were saying was true.
P.P.S. - Any tips for when and how to use Arc Blade in a way that doesn't get me stomped?
TL;DR: Hunters were telling the truth this whole time, and I'm sorry for doubting them.

These Necro posts are stupid, but this is one I think is good to see again. Today's Hunters need to be reminded that the Titans were our allies in the days when Arc Blade was considered the OP super. It makes me ashamed to see my fellow Hunters crying for a nerf on the Titans' hammers when it was the Titans that came to our defense in those days.

I remember reading this FOREVER ago..

Edited by bambam12357: 10/19/2015 10:51:50 PMOnce you unlock blink, bladedancer becomes easier to use because your teleporting all over the place and it really screws with people. It just takes getting used to playing

Even though I main a warlock, I also second a hunter and I feel your pain when I play crucible, it's tough. Even in pve it's still hard sometimes to stay alive

How does it feel to get -blam!-ed cross map by hammer of sol now? -a sad sad warlock :(
-
Ahem hunters were lying literally a bladedancer swept our entire team except me.
-
Honestly found hunter easier than all the classes in terms of use. Slaying wise, it'll take time and practice for any class to utilize its potential

Tip for arc blade pvp: Use blink to get as much Arial space on your opponent as you can, and swipe on top of them to kill them (people don't normally aim up, so it will be harder for them to kill you). You can get some nice triples and quads with this, as long as your running health regeneration on a bladedancer kill. Bladedancer tips for pve: Just don't. Use gunslinger instead.

I can say the same about titans sunbreaker. I tried playing it and i thought it would be super easy to rack up kills. But people would jump and it was hard to pop them with the hammer cuz i have to compensate for the trajectory. And more often than not i get 1 hit golden gunned. Also i used and sword and some dude popped the sun breaker and it was a 2 hit. I was suprised how easy it was to die as a sun breaker

Apology accepted. If you want to use bladedancer effectively, try using blink and hungering blade. Just stay in the air as much as possible! It's a lot harder to kill an airborne bladedancer.

Tips for Arc Hunter: invisibility is god. I mained a hunter till TTK and invisibility was my life line. Nothing better them going invis to sneak around an enemy or revive people or whatever. Its a good way to get out of fire in PvE and it helps you wreck large groups of enemies by sneaking into the middle then arc dancing them all quickly. (I would recomend the 3rd man for that though)

Encore + Mask of the Third Man = Pure chaos. I'll be switching from Nightstalker back to Bladedancer once I get my Y2 mask, that's for damn sure...

Even if this post is from Feb 7th, it's still awesome.

Old wise post

See. If people would just take the time to see what it's really like they would've seen what we were talking about for the past year. Great post OP
