I am a sucker for reasoning, story and an overall sense of conformity and completion when it comes to games. I realise that most people have a set of three characters - usually one of each class and of each race, maybe a gender switch added in for variety - but do you have a reason for this? Your own legend?
This brings me to my three characters: My original and main character: an Awoken Male Warlock; A black colour themed Exo Male Titan with armoured face panels and a white colour themed Exo Female Warlock with no eyes and sensors all over her head. But, instead of having these solely for practicality's sake I have always had a story in my head for all of them. Bear with me -
After a while running with my Warlock and maxing him out I realised he needed a bit of a helping hand. I didn't want to keep switching gear for the crucible and finding my K/D taking a hit because I was running with my PVE gear. I also needed a helping hand to make sure I could get the most out of all of the weekly Nightfall and Raids I was doing... What better way to do it than to hit the Exo market? My Warlock could control them remotely - a trick he had learned in deep space: Exomancy.
I needed an armoured tank of a titan who could absorb bullets and shoulder-barge his way to victory in the crucible to protect my rankings. So, there he was, a pure black armoured death crucible war bot - complete with glowing white and yellow innards. Ready to oppress the light of the crucible guardians. He will need some training but I have some armour ready for him and a blacksmith shader to add as a finishing touch. He'll do!
...I still need something special - another to compliment my death bot - a sensory driven exo who can fight back the darkness and can be trained as a warlock. There she was, slumped at the back against a wall (people dont seem to use female exos) but she had something special - made from panels of the Traveler! No eyes but covered in sensors. With some vigorous training she can become a raid worthy warlock who can take my gear into the pits and use her radiant light to try and win me some extra spoils after I have done my work for the week - a warlock needs some time in the tower bar after all. I have a chatterwhite perfect for her too.
Do your three characters have a storyline?
TL;DR - My three characters all have a linking storyline in my head - do yours?
