Which should I max first, Suros or Red Death?
I'm specifically asking for advice from those who have both Suros and Red Death perks unlocked. I'm not ready yet for Crota Hard Mode, but I'm wondering which perk returns more health and is more useful in the raid?

My question is more for the lamps I guess as I use a higher DPS weapon during Bridge and don't normally take too much damage during Crota. Is either worth it there? I generally either use Mida for agility, seems to really help against the weight, or I use Thorn for damage and overpenetration. I used to have a Badger CCL with Firefly and Armor Piercing, but it was right after the DLC and I didn't realize how good of a scout rifle it was going to be.

1 ReplySuros is best ar in game perk procs like maybe 30% can't speak for red death since I don't have it.

Red Death is the obvious choice for health regen, Suros only has a slight chance to activate it.

2 RepliesI have both, don't use either. Not even in CE HM. Red Death is currently equipped on my Titan as I was dumping bounty XP into it as I WAS tempted to give it a shot. But having armour that regens health from orbs and having Jellyhorn equipped is more useful.

1 ReplyQuestion is do you have a 331 legendary you like? If so then Red Death will be a better choice (for its healing ability in the HM Crota encounter). If you do not have a 331 legendary then go for Suros but you should consider grinding marks for a faction weapon like the Saterienne Rapier.

Edited by Taux: 2/2/2015 9:10:18 PMRed death = Guaranteed HP regen. Suros Regime= Chance to regen. I went trough about 50+ bullets on the suros without it letting me regen once. It might do it on the first shot, it might never do it at all.

For crota red death is guaranteed but for the rest of the raid (especially the thrall run) the sauros packs more punch per round, I'd go with sauros and I have both :D

1 ReplyIf you're planning to use red death specifically for crota then do that because you're always ensured that your health will regen. Personally I love red death it's actually a great weapon in Pvp if you know how to use it. The regime however is of course considered the best of auto rifles. And really is a top tier weapon.

5 RepliesHave you attempted hard mode crota yet? Honestly, for lamps, fatebringer is the best weapon due to its crowd control, then I use fatebringer for ogre bridge as well, as you can easily get overrun with thralls. At crota, you will take damage. Maybe not every time, but in the cases it does, red death is a must have as it refills full health on EVERY KILL, as opposed to suros returning full health randomly on kills. Some do, some don't. Also, if you have helmets that refill health when picking up orbs, you may not need either.

Red death is super cool and good! Pvp my set up is red death, longbow, zombie. Yesterday I got 36 kills and a KD of 4. 0 with that set up. Red death like any PR you have to land head shots to bet out autos. You need to learn to use it. [spoiler]made me a better sniper that's for sure and just more accurate in pvp and pve [/spoiler]

Don't have red death, it's a gun I really want though. Suros I use for pvp exclusively and more than likely Crota when I actually manage to solo it.

I just got Red Death from Crota Hard and I'm in the process of upgrading it. However I have Suros maxed out. From my experiences Suros is good for constant damage against Swordbearer and can take out small mobs quickly. I've yet put Red Death to the test yet since its on the process of getting upgraded. So for now Suros.

Depends on what u r using it for. Red Death upgraded is awesome for crotas end, Suros is awesome for everything else.

Red death so simple I kill give you full health suros is luck and it has to be the bottom half of the mag red death fire once full health again

If you need a weapon for CE, and you don't have a helm to regen health, I say Red Death because each kill is guaranteed that will heal you, Suros has to be bottom half and not always.

Red death if your planning to run the sword.

Red Death is great for PVE and really good for running the sword. Suros if like to PVP.
