Best method for Ascendant Mat farming?
I've been playing since November (not quite a Christmas noob haha) and have peaked at lvl 29 through FWC gear... I am lacking the final ascendants required to level my armour to 31.
I know about the following:
1) Dismantling of legendaries (drops or crucible/FWC gear)
2) Public Events
With regards to Public Events, do you guys just run around in a particular circuit or just camp a particular zone, or use the event timer apps/websites and hope they are accurate? I think I have seen 4 since I have started :(
Any other ways to get the materials I need to finish off my equipment?
Any help will be awesome, thanks :D

Vault of glass, like the others mentioned is best :) Regarding your issue with public events, just visit: destinypublicevents.com you will find timers for them on this website :)

Yep, Vault of Glass for sure. I have done it 3 times a week for some time now and combined with other activities I have accumulated 639 extra shards in my vault, lol ;)

*Pound it Brotha! i got my PS4 i November as well lol. I had the Same problem with getting my gear past level 29 untill i did VoG like they have Mentioned. Im sure everyone has also mentioned that you can pick up armor with 36 light (max) from Xur, and sometimes the Iron Banner. Im a level 30 right now, nearing 31. keep at it, and im sure youll make it 32 in no time......given you find a decent raid team that will help you run Crota.

Don't bother. Get friends to carry you through normal crota raid for that armour. Starts at 30 light you can get it to 32 without using radiant shards at all. An exotic (again no ascendant shards needed here) plus some unlevelled crota gear= easy 31.

Search "destiny public events" on google for event timers. Best way i have found is VoG and daily heroic missions combined with events :)

Vault of Glass and Daily Story Missions. I have so many of the bloody things that I will never use, eventually you will get to that point also it just takes time.

Definitely VoG. Once you've done that, use the event timer website. It's usually pretty accurate, but occasionally it's wrong. If you're there on time and it hasn't started after six minutes, move on to the next. Mars is the best place for this, IMO.

You can solo the first chest in the vault of glass, google for the video..... do that on all three chars....

Max out your armour. You'll be showered in Ascendant Shards

yhere is an app with timers telling you when and where events have a chance to pop. Just vogging is good for ascendant stuff though.

Best way to get ascendant mats by far is Vault of glass. At lvl 29 you will be fine in the normal raid (lvl 26) and a decent group can get you through the hard raid (lvl 30).
