Your Favorite Destiny Theories

There's a lot that can go here. I want to know some theories and/or headcanons you have for Destiny. Thinks like the surviving Ahamkara, or what it means to be Awoken. Why the Exo were made. I love gaming theories and want to see some of the most popular ideas from the community. The Ahamkara story is this: There once was a great species dragon that was said to be able to grant people any wish they desired. It was decided, however, that the wish came at too high a price, and so the powerful creatures, the Ahamkara, were hunted to extinction. Their bones are used in pieces of armor. Only, it's believed that the birds seen flying around Venus are actually these Ahamkara coming back, that they weren't wiped out. There's a relatively vague description someone else in the community posted on a DLC based around them. There's another theory that the Stranger is an exo from the future who watches over people, and steers important people toward their Destinies, which is why she led our guardians to the Black Garden. I'm not sure all the details on that one, but when it was shown to me, it all seemed fairly solid. So what are some other things you believe, and/or want to know more about?

  • I'm wondering if maybe the traveler is going to be corrupted by The Darkness and turn out to be an epic Trojan Horse tale. The Traveler is already in the last city and if The Darkness figures out a way to corrupt it, it could turn out to be a pretty epic sized and enjoyable raid. It would definitely be large enough to split into at least 3 raids to defeat massive, strategy-based boss fights in an effort to cleanse The Traveler, kind of like what Blizzard did with ICC in WotLK. It could be a way for the game developers to showcase the inner machinations of The Traveler. At the same time, it could lead to a change in venue for the Guardians home base. Say the Traveler is corrupted and awakens, then goes Doomsday on the last city. After defeating whatever darkness is inside the traveler, they could take the story in a direction that causes humanity, exos and awoken to vacate earth for a while and live inside the Traveler.
