If Activision wasn't the publisher for Destiny, what do you think would be changed in the game?
I'd guess there would be trading in the game.

Edited by JohnnyMac: 1/27/2015 2:33:48 AMI think that Bungie could've done well with Destiny as an indie developer honestly. They wouldn't be as lucrative right now but if they were successful as an indie then they would have much more money later on down the road, since they would gain all of the revenue from sales of the game. And if someone is smarter than me with this kind of stuff then please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah provably
-
Activision bankrolled the game to the tune of 500 million didn't they? If they didn't some other publisher like, EA, would have stepped in and done the same thing, or worse, Microsoft or Sony may have and made it exclusive to their platform so half (estimate) of the community would miss out on the whole game not just some exclusives. The game may not be what was anticipated, but plenty still play and enjoy it and I am sure ot will get better as time goes on, especially when they ditch last gen consoles

No offence but does anyone else realise that Bungie is at least half responsible for the game and it's issues? Maybe Activision piece meal'd the extra content but Bungie decided that the contract they where given was worth it. After stepping back from Halo Bungie could have gone with any publisher with their idea and walked away with a contract yet they accepted Activision's so clearly they liked what they saw.
-
It would be the same.
-
We'd get the full game as promised
-
There might have actually been a story. There might have actually been more content upon initial purchase. There might've been more diversity. There might've been more creativity. The game might've actually succeeded properly. I love this game to be honest. Been here since late September. But it has flaws and I'm hoping it gets better from here.
-
The game might actually be good......
-
First off there would not still be trading 2:there will never be trading(because everyone are assholes[especialy when driving]) 3:I think the whole game would be much much more better than what activision is doing they can go suck a dick because their -blam!-ing up this game just so their call of cock can be setter in every way
-
Bungie would have stuck with Microsoft and we'd be playing a Halo MMO on the Xbone.
-
Edited by 28 stab wounds: 1/25/2015 8:19:46 AMBump.
-
Edited by 28 stab wounds: 1/25/2015 6:26:53 PMEverything that bungie showed us in the Vidoc's back in 2013 would probably still be in the game. And the level designer guy who left Bungie a while ago might still work for Bungie.
-
My wallet wouldn't be as hungry.
-
There would be loads of content... Look at halo series.. Even just halo 3.. So many maps... So many mission.. So many playlists... Activision are money grabbers. We all know this. I support bungie. Not activision. I'm angry with activision .. Not bungie.

Edited by Aprovoked_Mango: 1/25/2015 9:43:01 AMNo cut content dlc/bigger dlc if they arent cut content. Probably could go explore way over there *points to landscape behind cosmodrone patrol spawn* Grimoire wouldnt exist and story actually implemented into game Factions would actually have a point, plus I think there would be more
bigger vault space, Activision are laughing their asses off watching us argue and delete stuff for space all whilst telling bungie no, let them grind for more! This point was a joke but I a little piece of me actually believes this now

-
Free dlcs? Idk
-
No console exclusives. No cut content. A deeper story line(probably a lot cornier but still). The release date would of been delayed quite a bit I would think but the game would of have been worth the wait.
-
Trading is and always will be a bad idea. Same reason weapons/armour weren't tradable in world of Warcraft.
-
I wouldn't rather waited some extra time for a complete game. But I would love to see some inside info from Bungie to see if its really true. Please random Bungie employee, tell us what really happened! Write a book and I will read it, unlike those -blam!-ing Grimoire cards
-
Then the game would probably be the game we were all hoping it would be
-
We probably would be getting ready for release day soon.
-
I wish some other notable publisher published it
-
Mas (Spanish duh) content
-
We wouldn't have half a game and DLC that's entirely just cut content
-
One of two things would happen. 1. We'd get the game we were promised. The game looks and plays extremely well but the content was butchered to be sold at a later date, per Activision/EA's policy. They're the worst publishers when it comes to this. Who knows what the game would have had. Sparrow racing? Ship to ship combat? More planets to explore? Not to mention a complete -blam!-ing story. 2. The publisher wouldn't have had the money to get the game out on time or at all, Duke Nukem's issue for ten years, or they would hold Bungie to a ridiculous deadline and we'd have another Colonial Marines incident. -blam!- YOU SEGA.
