DESTINY'S TRUE STORY

I finally figured it out. Destiny has a story that is not told through the campaign (obv) instead, the story is exactly what we are playing. Every mission, bounty, raid, strike, etc IS the story. The story is hidden in plain sight, "random" dialogs from vendors, little hints thrown in our faces to lead us into an investigation that will finally decrypt the true story. The repetitiveness has a purpose, the lack of explanation for each mission has a purpose. We don't even know why we're fighting really... or what we are fighting for exactly. I will begin to investigate just because I have hopes that this game actually has a promising and adventureful lore. I suggest you others do the same, look deep into the game (Every aspect and situation) you'll be surprised with what you will find.

  • "I could tell you all about the story of destiny. But now a days they are just whispers clouding the vacant hallways at bungie. I could tell you of the trolling they did, but you would fight tooth and nail to prove me wrong." Also my fav "I don't have time to explain why I don't have time"

    • Without context there is no story. It's just pointless yammering. The NPCs could all say Derka Derka Sherpa Derka Derka and it would still be as pointless as anything spoken in Destiny. Stop trying to defend Bungie. There is no defense to "Epic Cinematic Adventure" that is printed on the back of the box when the cutscenes are mostly voiceovers at loadscreens or 40 second clips that end up stating "I don't have time to explain" which is a line every NPC in the so called cutscenes states at one point during the so called campaign. As far as your thin excuse to defend the repetitiveness of the lack of content. It's not so you get the point of the yammering. It's to pad the experience of the grind so you play longer because of the lack of content. The game was released unfinished. But because of the hype train and marketing that came a year to early. Activision wouldn't delay the game even though almost all the competition delayed their games to some extent. Greed won Destiny and the thin excuses they call expansion packs.

      • This is exactly what I've been trying to tell people, they're telling a story from a very closed first person view. You're not some legendary hero that people will spill their souls to, you're a newly revived guardian that people know little about. So a lot of things being kept secret from you makes sense, however, they still give hints as to what is going on. Furthermore, the game is also very cutscene light for this exact same reason, players SHOULDN'T know everything and cutscenes make it too easy TO know everything.
