Crota HM step by step tutorial

Hello everyone, my firearm of 4 32s and 2 31s finished this daunting task a couple of hours ago. I hope this may help some of my fellow guardians take down this darkness filled SOB. Step 1: Clear out starting area while taking as little damage as possible. Step 2: Have all guardians head outside and stand on the center platform (the one on the opposite side of the starting area. In other words the opposite side of the glass). Step 3: As soon as swordbearing knight steps outside, dps him. Try not to throw grenades as that tends to make him jump too far to the right. Timing is of the essence here. We found that snipers tend to stun him which made keeping him in place and killing him quickly very easy. Step 4: Have your designated swordbearer (we had a blade dancing hunter assigned) run towards the sword. As this is happening, we threw our grenades (solar grenades preferably) on the sword so that the thralls would back away from it and our sword bearer could grab it without taking damage. Step 5: Swordbearer would then approach Crota from the left side by hopping on the rock and crouch to turn invisible. At this time the remaining guardians pulled out our rockets. The swordbearer would tell us when he was ready (after turning invisible) and jumped up to Crota while we all shot one Rocket each. Now timing is critical here because our swordbearer was already spamming Crota by time he went down (we had 2 jellyhorns, 1 truth, and 2 hunger of crota's shoot at him. Your group may have to shoot more depending on which rockets you have but make sure you down him). This allowed him to get more hits in. He usually got 3-4 hits with the first 3 being slams and the last being a swipe. After that he ran back to the left rock. When Crota stands again, he has invulnerability for a brief moment. As soon as we (the guardians shooting rockets) saw his shield disappear, we told our swordbearer to jump up again and unloaded rockets into him. While this is happening, we had one of our Rocket guardians switch to his sniper and shoot the boomers on the left side. He did not kill them due to the wizards spawning, but he made sure to keep them busy so our swordbearer was not shot from behind. My group was able to down him a second time before he moved. Swordbearer gets 3-4 hits once again. Step 6: When Crota moves, he will go to the right side. Once we (the rocket team) saw Crota go down the second time, we ran to the starting room from the left side. Be careful here since the boomers will attempt to shoot while this happens. We found that it was easier to jump so that we would not take splash damage. Our swordbearer would also make his way into this room from the left. He would jump down from Crota to the left rock and run up the stairs. Once everyone is back in the center room, watch for the thralls that spawn. Keep an eye on Crota. When we did it, his health was around 60 percent at this point so we took about a 1/3 with each run. When Crota goes back to the center, have everyone group up and exit back to the center platform TOGETHER. Get close and hug the wall on your right so that the boomers are not aggroed. Step 7: Repeat steps 3-5. If you cannot locate the swordbearing knight, try shooting the thralls. This makes him come out from wherever he is hiding. He is usually behind the rock to the right of his spawn door. Also, when your swordbearer grabs the sword, they should proceed to the rock on the right of Crota since Crota will move to the left this time. Down Crota as normal and make sure that when you are taking him down the second time, have a guardian shoot at the boomers. Once Crota goes down the second time, have your team (besides swordbearer who is damaging Crota) run to the room under the boomers on the right (the place where the ogres spawn). Swordbearer will also go there after he damages Crota. Step 8: When everyone is here, have everyone jump on top of the coffins and the doors. The ogre should spawn out of the door in the room. Try not to stand too close to this door. As soon as the ogre spawns, rocket him. Do not throw grenades because they have a chance to push him back into his door and make him spawn outside. Kill him quickly. Once that ogre is down, you should see the other ogre who spawned in the other boomer building walking outside. We had our titan drop his bubble so we had cover while jumping out and shooting our rockets at the ogre. Once he his dead, look for Crota. If done correctly, he should still be on the left platform. Wait for him to go back to the center before proceeding outside. Once he is, have your team leave the room, being cautious of the thralls and cursed ones which will be coming down the stairs. Your objective here is to get your team back to the center platform, minus one person. This guardian will run back into the starting room. Everyone else back to the center. Step 9: Crota should have about 30 percent health now. Repeat steps 3-5. Now the guardian that goes back to the starting room is tasked with killing the thralls that will spawn behind your rocket team. We had this person jump on top of the door by the starting crystal aiming his rocket at the glass. For some reason, when the swordbearing knight is killed, thralls spawn in front of the glass. They somehow melee through it. That guardian should kill them as soon as they spawn. Your swordbearer should now have the sword and approach from the left of Crota. Down him, and take some swings at Crota. Now at this point, Crota will auto enrage due to having his health below a specific point. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT SHOOT AT THE OVERSOUL! Have your swordbearer run back to the rock and have one of your rocket guardians switch to their sniper again and aggro the boomers. The remaining 3 rocket guardians should shoot Crota with their remaining rockets while your swordbearer prepares to deal Crota his final blow. If your timing is good, Crota should die as the oversoul explodes. Boom, you have now completed the hard raid! Notes: We had 2 32 sunsinger warlocks, 2 32 hunters and 1 31 hunter, and 1 31 titan. For health regeneration, our swordbearer (32 blade dancer hunter) had mask of third man which allows him to get health when he picks up orbs. When we went back to the starting room after our first sword run, sunsinger should super and generate orbs if needed. Same goes for the other hunters. Also, if a sunsinger is damaged at the beginning point and has a super, let yourself die so you can self rez with full health. Lastly, our titan was able to get health by orbs as well. Not sure what he used but he did have on glasshouse. As soon as he gets on I will edit and post how he did so. There you have it everyone. Now this is simply how my group completed it. It may not work for all but if it does please comment and keep this thread up high. Good luck and happy raiding guardians!
