Destiny's Complete Original Story

Original Story: The Golden Age- brought about by a mysterious sphere named "the Traveller" for its sporadic movement throughout the universe. The Traveller allows humanity to explore the solar system for a period of time before completely wiping it out. The tower, the "home" of a select few who were chosen to wield remarkable power. Exos had been one of humanity's greatest creations- not only were they war machines but they were so meticulously programmed that they could exemplify human emotions and morality. The Awoken were a nearly extinct race drawn to the immense power that radiated from the Traveller. The Traveller could be their salvation. The Last City contained what little was left of humanity. The Traveller had used Humanity's Golden Age as a means by which all Darkness could be drawn to our solar system. The Traveller had sent out an anonymous call/ a surge of power that echoed throughout the universe. This was why the Darkness had returned and destroyed much of the new settlements created by humans. Human weapons, technology, and understanding of the galaxy had been preserved- which was most important to the Traveller. Guardians would need these in its war against the "Darkness". The Cabal, Vex, Hive, and Fallen had been the first to respond, but by no means were they united. The Fallen had claimed Earth, the Vex had taken Venus and Mercury, the Hive had seized the Moon, and the Cabal had taken Mars. Thousands of wars and battles began between the various races and their respective denominations across the entire solar system. Guardians were thrown into the mix to wipe out and disorient as much of the aliens as possible out of their desire for survival and preservation. Everything had been orchestrated by the Traveller, which strangely took a dormant state once it's plan had been set in motion. The Speaker was merely a reassuring voice instructed to moderate the plan. A small group of Guardians had suspected that the Traveller was up no no good. Why would it sleep while they continued to push back the Darkness? How could it not give them enough power to defeat the evil they faced? This group left the Tower, destroyed their Ghosts so as to become ghosts themselves so that a plan could be hatched. The Group was led by a Human named Crow and his sister. The player began very suspicious of Crow's claims, but over the course of a few missions, trusted the rebel. The reef, the secret base of the rebels, became the player's new "Tower". The story reaches a climax when the player is sent into the Hellmouth to destroy a machine capable of granting the Traveller enough power to wipe out what little remained of humanity. The Traveller is clearly distinguished as the greatest evil in the universe. The final mission. The Traveller must be destroyed- but from the inside (the Black Garden). Destruction of the Heart of the evil sphere brings relief to Guardians, who then shift focus to the evil still present in the galaxy.

this all makes sense and explains alot. that's why in one trailer it showed a third person player walking around the reef like it was the tower. this is a better story, don't know why bungie became a sell out in the end. they ripped so much content out from the game they left a crappy shooter with amateur mission design. people blame activision for all the changes but it doesn't make sense. they clearly had a better developed story and yes destiny did sell millions but the reviews were crap and stopped other players from buying the game when they saw all the 7's. the change hurt them because then numbers would have been 9's instead. it hurt them and the community. we all got ripped off and this is why me and other players wont be buying any of the dlc and wont be buying the sequel. this is just a case of devs having a different vision for their own game rather then what the players want. its been done before.
